After meticulous enhancements, the Tube MP Project Series emerges as a pinnacle of professional audio interfacing, offering a seamless connection for microphones, instruments, and line-level signals to both digital audio workstations and traditional analog setups. The legendary Tube MP series has undergone a comprehensive redesign, both internally and externally, to ensure a robust, high-quality, and cost-effective solution that now includes the convenience of USB output.
Crafted with a sleek all-aluminum stackable chassis, this preamplifier not only promises durability but also fits elegantly into any studio environment. The precision-engineered LED level metering provides accurate visual feedback, ensuring optimal signal levels for recording.
At the heart of the Tube MP Project Series is a new ultra-low noise discrete microphone preamp front end, boasting an exceptionally flat and wide frequency response. This design accommodates a broad spectrum of input signal levels with minimal coloration, delivering a clean and neutral sound across various sources. The high impedance 1/4" instrument inputs are finely tuned for guitar pickups, capturing every subtle nuance with clarity.
The inclusion of a high-quality 12AX7A tube introduces a warm and natural dimension to the musical dynamics, enriching the sonic texture. An external power supply minimizes AC line noise and hum, ensuring that the audio signal remains pristine.
The preamplifier's Input Gain control and switch allow for precise adjustment of the input dynamic range, as well as control over the tube drive. The switch-selectable impedance optimizes the response for different microphones, including vintage ribbon and studio-grade models. A switch-selectable high-pass filter, with a Bessel design set at a low 40Hz, effectively eliminates low-frequency rumble and wind noise without compromising bass tonality or time domain response.
Phantom power is readily available for the XLR input, providing a clean +48 Volts DC from a low noise, internally current-limited supply, safeguarding sensitive microphones. The FET Limiter features fast attack and musical release times, capping the maximum audio output level to prevent overloading subsequent equipment while maintaining a clear, uncompressed sound.
The Phase Invert switch offers the flexibility to reverse signal polarity at the source, essential for blending the output with other channels in a mix. The output control, positioned after the Tube and Limiter stages, allows for fine-tuning of the output level to match a wide array of systems.
The Tube MP Project Series is equipped with a single Type B USB peripheral connector, facilitating audio output over USB to your computer. This feature, combined with Hot Swapping capability, allows for effortless connection and disconnection without the need to power down your computer. Fully USB 1.1 compliant, the preamplifier is compatible with a range of operating systems, including Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Vista and Mac OS 9.1 or newer.
For those seeking to mount the preamplifier for live stage or studio applications, an optional ART SM1 stand mount is available, providing a secure attachment to any microphone stand.
In summary, the Tube MP Project Series Professional Microphone and Instrument Tube Preamplifier with USB stands as a versatile, innovative, and high-quality choice for professionals seeking superior sound quality and connectivity in their audio endeavors.
