I purchased this unit specifically to keep the internet modem & router powered on during brief power outages (common in my area). Not only does this unit not provide any backup whatsoever now, it also randomly starts "beeping" at times and the only way to stop it is to unplug it completely from the wall (which kills everything since the backup no longer works). I have several Back-UPS Pro 1350s which work flawlessly. This product, however, is pure junk.

In the 4 months that I've been using this new product, it has started beeping once a month; the beeping cannot be muted. I have to turn it off, and thus my server gets shut down. It works for another month or so before the beeping starts again, Super Annoying!

This had about a 5 year useful life - which is excellent. But without a replaceable battery, it becomes a boat anchor. APC said there was no way to bypass the battery alarm and use it strictly as a surge protector. Demands proper recycling. Buy a model that supports replacement batteries.

I keep getting sporadic faults of a constant tone and a blinking (alternating green/red) light. The manual says that means the battery needs to be replaced. I haven't even had this a year and it only has a TV plugged into it.

I owned a few APC UPS backups and was always able to replace the batteries myself. You can't do that with this model. I regret that I missed this important point. I did register it right away and hopefully if the battery dies prematurely, I'll Geta replacement by sending it out for repair.

I gave it 4 stars because my power has not gone out so I haven?t been able to test its effectiveness during power outages yet. But so far I like the unit. We specify UPS?s at work and use this same brand for industrial cabinets, the biggest reason why I chose this particular unit for my home office. I like the unit, it has plenty of outlets but doesn?t take up a lot of room. And I appreciate the power button.

I have mine next to my couch in the living room, where everyone seems to gravitate working on their computer or plugging in their ipads an/or phones. We do not have super clean power here and I wanted something that gave a good deal of protection. This answered the mail.

Wow, I haven't read the reviews for a UPS in awhile. My mistake! I have given APC the benefit of the doubt for about a decade, but the last two units I've purchased and installed at different locations in the previous year have the "midnight scream" problem after less than 6 months of use. The alarm will go off randomly about every couple of weeks and you have to shut the unit down and power it back on to get it to stop. Even with a small load on it. Tech support says it's fine and makes me do the troubleshooting steps which never show an issue. They tell me everything is working correctly and no need for a RMA and suggest maybe I'm doing "something" wrong or the batteries aren't charged. Then they will send me a link to a PDF manual which is extremely patronizing. This makes the warranty essentially useless. No log or ability to replace the battery either. Don't put yourself in this position if possible.

I have used your UPS for my home computer for many years. Lately, have power interruptions of only a few seconds but it knocks out my cable TV. So, I ordered this unit to keep the primary cable box on during those interruptions.

I use dozens of APC UPS models around my homes. I have used them for decades. This model does not measure up to the usual level of quality APC puts out in their products.

I bought 2 of these merely to power my mesh network hubs. Virtually no load at all. All was fine until the power actually went out. They both started popping and beeping constantly. They aren't even of any use purely as a surge protector. In fact with the generator running power in the house, you couldn't have it plugged into the wall with nothing else plugged into it. Returning both.
