The Back-UPS I received through the Trade-UPS plan had a Building Wiring Fault light that was continuously lit -- even when the unit was not plugged into an AC outlet! When I asked for and received a replacement, the replacement unit had the same problem -- Building Wiring Fault continuous lit even when the unit is not plugged in. It took me two electricians, three neighbors, and about three weeks of effort to definitively confirm that there is not a wiring fault in my home. If this defect slips past the inspectors, what more serious issues might have slipped by, I wondered? I don't think APC's quality assurance is up to the standards they met in the past.

Great product. Build quality of APC has always been solid. Design to maximize number of surge/backups outlets is enough for a full home business with multiple computers/printers/scanner/etc. Mainly use for line conditioning and outlets with enough battery backup time to shut down properly in case of an event.

The battery arrived with 0.002 volts of charge, which has never happened before.

Arrived damaged. Customer support asked for pics, and I sent them. Five days later, no response of any type, so I do not know if they were received or not. Just an email saying if they haven't heard from me in one day the case was being closed. Open? Closed? Certainly not resolved. I like the products, and own and use 5 different ones, but this is the first time I have needed support, and it has not been provided.

I cannot honestly give a rave review of the two Back UPS units that I just purchased -- I won't know for sure how well they perform until they have been installed for a significant period of time, and gone through a few power outages. I CAN say that I purchased them under APC's trade-up policy, and I was quite happy with their predecessors. Both of those gave good service for 8 years -- keeping my systems up for a reasonable length of time in extended outages, and preventing crashes from momentary power hiccups (fairly common from ComEd) before the batteries started to give out a couple of months ago. The purchase of the replacements -- as well as the return of the old units -- went quite smoothly. The new units did hold up fairly well in an outage just this week, although I will say that the projected battery times displayed did not appear live up to the APC representative's promise of being much greater than that of the old units.

Upgraded to a more powerful UPS because my last APC UPS was under sized but worked excellent for 15 years. APC UPS was so stable I stayed with the firm. The new BR1500MS has an improved intuitive display, improved array of prime plugs and spacing, and plugs are more functional for me without master/sub-master functions of plugs. Perfect total design with less worry and detail.

This is a replacement for one that I have had for over ten years. The old one has had at least 3 battery replacements; the software finally collapsed. This one appears similar. It is black; I wish it were cream. Of course back then computers were cream; now they are black. It has the same number of sockets: 5 + 5, while the older one had 6 battery + 4 surge. I could have bought another brand, but I am comfortable with APC and by buying it thru APC, I received a discount and could return the old unit for recycling.

Good replacement for 15 year old APC ups. Easy to install. Rotated my other 4 APC ups units to keep the highest need covered by new ups.

Bought this unit based on past experience with APC products. Had a power failure, the unit kicked in and immediately the smell of burning electronics filled the room. Shut it off right away and it would not power back on when commercial power was restored. Only items connected to this UPS at the time was a single PC and monitor. Major disappointment after all my past great experiences with APC products

Have owned APC Surge protectors/battery back-up for over 15 years living in areas (different states were there's a lot of lightning strikes and nasty inclement weather and they have never let me down. As power goes off, the BR1500MS (or BX1500 also owned) have protected me like a pro. One can mute the beeps and also regulate the APC voltage sensitivity. The last APC UPS lasted an incredible 9 years, until last week, when there was a lengthy lighting/thunder storm losing power several times and, the APC said no more with a very loud pup sound. The following morning order my 4th APC UPS, which was received in less than a week. Currently have 3 APC UPS/Battery back-up throughout the house; will continue buying APC as they have always protected my electrical/electronics equipment.

I traded up. The new Back-ups is working fine. It took me several attempts to reach out to APC for the RMA. After many days and a Chat I was bombarded with multiple RMAs. The RMA used to be automatically sent.

My previous UPS broke down. I phoned into the APC Contact Center and spoke to Analyn who is great to work with. She explained that the battery was old, however, I could trade in the old unit and receive a new UPS. Everything worked out just fine. Now I'm setup with a new UPS 1500 and I couldn't be more happy !! Thank you Analyn and APC !

I Researched power supply products. APC was one of three. My research then proceeded with the top three. APC came out on top. Then received delivery and setup. The configuration is simple and the power supply provides an excellent choice for current and future expanded devices. Thank you APC!

I traded up an older smaller voltage APC device and 1 from a competitor. I was out growing the number of devices I needed protection and backup on. I chose the Back UPS PRO BR 1500VA, SineWave, 10 Outlets, 2 USB Charging Ports, AVR, LCD interface. It filled my needs perfectly. It is extremely quiet & has an attractive footprint. I've been using APC from Schneider Electric for more years then I can remember & installed 100's of these in my IT consulting years. It is a product I trust managing my equipment.

I have used APC products for over a decade. I just traded in an LCD 1300 for the newer LCD 1500 model for protection of my electronics. As the LDC 1300 got older, it would still provide the protection I needed to avert a sudden shutdown of my equipment. Thanks to APC.

Our area has 'all-too-frequent' power surges that cause computer shutdowns/hard reboots and loss of wi-fi (which controls virtually everything in our home. Now, when the lights 'flicker', U-verse, wi-fi and computer survive. Unfortunately, the wireless TV monitors aren't on UPS but it's not such a hassle as before to restore service.

We have purchased two of these units, one for each of our home office computers, to replacing our aging APC units which were about 7 years old and the new units have acted well over the last 3 months, without issue or problem. Running three monitors, phone, headset, computer, speakers, cable modem, router and VoIP modem drawing around 130W total, which offers around 50-60 min run-time during a power outage. The larger number of plugs in the back (10) was helpful and a reason for this units purchase. The integration with the PowerChute software works well on a Windows 10 Pro computer. The units work as advertised and we are happy with their design and quality. We used the recycle trade-in option directly with APC and found the price within $20 of the lowest price we could get on Amazon but with the added advantage or a paid return label and proper recycling of the old units, which we wanted for the environment. $208 + $13 shipping ($221 total)

Bought because it is the model we have for our other desktops. They fit our needs. They hold the power for a hefty desktop and six monitors.

I purchased this to replace a old APC Back-UPS CS 350 (that's worn out to many surges? New battery doesn't help it, it did its job well time to put it out of it's miserey RIP) back on the new UPS it's a beast compared to the 350! I figured go with as much as I could afford to protect my Synology NAS!!! It seems to work great I did a few tests to see if it switches over and it did its job flawlessly! We did have a quick power issue the day after I set it up and it kept my NAS, modem, router going without a problem, for those that need a UPS for. Synology NAS (it's not on there list of supported UPSs) it works great the NAS sees it though the USB cable! Now the negative things I noticed!! The battery level when it switches to backup has to be incorrect!!!! It says I only have 30 watts of devices plugged in (this is accurate) but only after 10-15 seconds of run time it's shows the battery is at about 50% ? The battery was fully charged and the UPS is definitely new stock manufacturer date 7/2019 a couple months ago! Can I trust it to run as long as it should? The old 350 could power my NAS for almost 45 minutes this should run much longer!!! Giving it has 2 batteries in it basically 2 of the same batteries in the 350! I will have to contact support to see if this is normal?

We use these for deployments that require a lot of outlets. These have more than enough, plus the added USB ports are handy. Great to be able to monitor status of these so easily.

I have used APC products for many years and they are the best, except for one thing. My unit has 10 outlets on it, but many of the items that plug into it have transformer blocks which block adjacent outlets. I can't complain too much, because this is a common problem with this sort of unit. I just wish the outlets were spaced far enough apart to allow all of them to accommodate transformer blocks, if necessary.

I have been a loyal APC customer for as long as I can remember and have always purchased their products exclusively. APC products have been reliable for me and the odd time I have contacted customer service, their response has been stellar. This is the second 1500 series I own and love it and want to share my observations with you. The unit I am reviewing is the BR1500 Sine Wave, part of the pro series. The packaging that the unit arrived in was excellent. There was enough space between the walls of the box and the unit that only the worst of accidents would damage the unit however, disposal after words was tricky as the material is quite thick and did not bend easily to fit into the local collection containers. Hooking up the battery is normally a simple affair but this time, both the negative and positive wires were unhooked and while trying to get the black wire on the unit, I did touch the casing and caused a minor spark show. A little scary but mostly harmless. Currently, I have a desktop computer and dual monitor setup installed into the UPS. The power peaks around 325W, slightly less than quarter of full capacity. To test the run time I could expect in a power failure, I unplugged the UPS from the wall and started the timer. The system remained up and running for 50 minutes, more than adequate for the majority of power issue we have around here. My second observation (the first being the run time) was the cooling fan is not exactly whisper quit. Not only did I notice the fan running, several others also commented on the noise without prompting. The UPS seems to vent out of the top of the unit and it might be a combination of the sound being concentrated under my desk and the fan itself. After my test to observe running time, the fan seemed louder than before. I am guessing this was the extra workload of trying to recharge the battery. As time has gone one, I have gotten use to the sound and now only notice it when I look for it. I love the look of this unit in my office. Somehow, it just looks hi-tech to have this unit under my desk with the display on. Speaking of the display, I occasionally check the volts and feel better knowing that the power company is providing a clean 116v to 122v. Some of this might be the result of the UPS cleaning the power as well though. I used to turn the display off on these units but have come to realize they are providing valuable information. As for outlets to plug things in, at 10 AC outlets and 2 UPB charging ports, this unit has you covered. If you need more outlets than this unit provides on the back, at 5 battery backed-up and 5 additional surge-protection only, then you really need to consider relocating a few less important items. I love that APC includes the QC testing results with the unit with exact measurements. Somehow, this gives me a sense of safety. Speaking of which, the APC UPS is backed by a 3-year warranty and a $150,000 connected-equipment replacement policy. Well, I can honestly say that I will never have that high a value of equipment plugged into this unit but it is great knowing what is plugged into it is more than covered. All in all, it you are considering purchasing a UPS, I strongly suggest you consider this unit.

Have rated other UPS's in the past in the same price point - this one seems far superior!! It seems much quieter and much more efficient. I have this in my spare office and hooked up to a large monitor and PC!

I recently obtained the APC BR1500MS to protect and provide runtime to my Dell Alienware Aurora R7 PC, two 27" Monitors, and a few other various small office items connected to it. I was previously using the APC BXM1500 unit which was very similar in performance with the same number of outlets on the back. The newer unit I am now using runs even quieter, has a smaller chassis profile, and now includes two USB Charging ports where the older unit did not. The LED readout on the front is easy to see and the three small function buttons are easy to press and responsive to the touch. The unit looks very sleek in black and fits in well with my other office hardware. I live outside of town near the lake and power does go out fairly frequently so having a UPS I can trust is very important to me because I work from home. Power has gone out at least twice since putting this UPS in place and it did its job very well both times with no issues at all. I plan to order a few more of these for other areas of the house including my son's work desk upstairs. So far this is a great performer and seems very responsive and reliable. These 1500VA units finally seem to be coming down in price so no excuse not to buy several for your household. Highly recommended!

Surfing in the Dark

One week in, and it's already been tested with a 5 minute blackout. APC products are part of our life in this rural environment, since any storm coming through invariable drops power, from 10 seconds to several hours. Since the Internet is one of our primary sources of communication, all of our equipment, from endpoints to routers to the radio transmitter are on APC UPS. If it's not on a UPS or a surge protector, it is unplugged during storms. This PRO 1500 shows the increasing maturity...

Plenty of Power
By TXPowerUser
While it's a bit on the heavy side, the PRO BR 1500VA UPS has more than enough power for my needs. I tested it with a fully charged battery connected to an engineering workstation and two 24" high-res monitors. The battery lasted for 92 minutes. The alarm sounded every 30 seconds and then continuously during the last minute of power. I particularly like the front panel display that shows you how many minutes of power remain. Based on previous experiences with APC products, I expect this...
