As if it weren't already obvious--folks really love the Aputure Lantern Softbox. After having purchased my first one, I can easily see why. The things I like about the Lantern are the following: Price, size, build quality and light throw. Coupled with a 200X s and in a room that's around 20' x 20', this lantern puts light on every single wall, even the ones behind it. If you're looking for a brighter evenly lit look, the Aputure Lantern will get you there. Highly recommended.

Great and versatile soft box! Functionally excellent. The only thing that caught me off guard is how incredibly long this thing is when it is collapsed, making it difficult to transport via air travel so be aware of that!

I picked up this soft box to try it out with interior photography. I?ll have to say that it produces a very nice and even spread of light when used correctly. Also the deflector panel that was included with it is nice to have incase you need it for any given situation when you don?t need the full spread of light. I just boomed it up in the air about 12 ft on a interior shoot off to one side where it would not get in the shot and I was happy with the results I got.

Love Love the Aputure Lantern 360 Degrees Softbox. The perfect combo, Aputure Amaran 60D and Aputure Lantern. Excellent set up for small spaces. I use this set up for youtube videos. I highly recommend it.

Getting it ready is quick and easy. Not a lot of coaxing and it's ready to mount. In less than a minute you'll be turning it on and the softness will be very pleasing. Use the included curtain to shield it from light falling where you don't want it. The light emits 360 degrees around the diameter of the soft box with out the curtain.

I teach an online movement class and post the recording on YouTube. My previous lighting set up was dark and made it difficult to see. The aputure lantern casts a nice even illumination. Definitely a level up.

A good quality product. It is easy to put together and fits securely on even my cheaper gvm lights. Really the only detractor at all is the lack of actual instructions. It is fairly intuitive and there are plenty of videos on how to set it up. Just a would be nice thing. But a great product.

Super easy and fast to set up, and it diffuses the light nicely. I really like the design of the skirt - it has 4 velcro lines running vertically down the length, and allows you to roll it up as far as you want, with either all of it, 3/4, 1/2, or 1/4 up or down. super easy to tailor the amount of spill.

Got this for video lighting for room and interview. I bought an adapter for this to fit on my strobe for an overhead light for portraits as well. Great construction and the skirt is a must for light control.

Typical Apeture quality at a great price. If I could have only one modifier, this might be it. With the ‘skirt’ it’s nearly a soft box. Without it, you can fill an entire room with beautiful soft light. Great for interviews with multiple people if you only have one light.
