This adapter is sturdy and feels like a perfect way to mount an Amaran tube light securely. The locating pins inspire confidence that the light will not twist and unscrew, and the baby pin is nicely knurled (not shown in product photo).
However, I haven't been able to use this adapter as I intended. The baby pin doesn't fit in two of the three orientations the end of my boom arm accepts. The one way it does fit (barely, with some force) is the one that isn't useful to me. I tested it on my other baby pin receivers (mainly on lights) and it didn't fit 1/4. Overall this product seems like it would be really good and reliable if I could use it as I intended, but unfortunately I will probably end up returning it.
