Questions & Answers

Gregory T : Is there a loop strap on back sliding over extended handle of a roller suitcase ?MIKE M : No. I use elastic straps if I need to.Rodney W : No. It is not a roller case. The case does have an additional shoulder carrying strap that attaches to diagonal corners of the case.William K : NoANDREW R : Not specified, however I do not believe so.
Rodney W : does this bag meet airline carry on size specs?WILLARD P : I've carried it on to the major airlines before with no problem. There are different specs for the major's and commuters, but that is a problem with any bag. A great bag for the price. I use this bag to work out of the car now, had to get a roller for travel.(getting old) Can't see ever getting rid of it though.GARY G : Southwest Airlines allows 10" x 16" x 24" Bags. My Ac Pro 1600 measures 9.5" x 12.5" x 20" fully loaded so YES! This is my second Ape Case and have been very happy with both of them The main weakness is the zippers, but I must admit I load my cases to the max and am pretty rough with them. I'd get one.Craig C : Yes Fully loaded, mine is 20"x13"x8". It's a great bag for longer DSLR lenses and multiple bodies.William K : It should. Although I have not tried to carry on to a flight. I do not use it for that purpose.
Karin W : APNACPRO1600 What material is this made of?LEWIS B : The material is a nylon, and seems to be very sturdy. I have traveled with this case all over Europe without any issues. I keep several cameras as well as lenses and other accessories and do not have issues. The zipper works easily and does not catch on anything.CHUCK M : Its a thick canvas, like a Carhart jacket . Inside is 1/4 in. thick foam movable panels covered in a nylon type fabric. Good BagTINA C : Not sure couldn't find it. But it is like a suitcase material very sturdy ,well built. holds up. Would buy again. Holds a lot of camera things. My dad loves it.SCOT O : Heavy canvas. Great product, very tough, and I love that the inside is bright yellow so you can find all of your stuff!JEFF L : The case is constructed from heavy duty man-made materials similar to nylon and canvas. The walls are amply padded and is completely lined with Velcro type material in the inside. The zippers have never given me a problem and have been quite durable. This bag is one of three I keep handy depending on the project. The other two are a Think Tank backpack and a more substantial Pelican case (1610). The Pelican is also the case I store my gear in day-to-day. I have tried a considerable number of bags, cases, and packs. It's tough to find one that meets every need. This Ape bag is one of the few I really felt satisfied with.ROBERT S : Nylon/canvas I think... well made.. I'm very happy with it.BRADFORD C : I think it's a nylon or something close to nylon. It's honestly the BEST camera bag I've ever had. If you're going to be carrying extra lenses or extra camera bodies, you may end up growing out of it quickly. But for one camera/lens and all my other stuff, it's perfect.

Breif critique on Ape Case camera and laptop bag.

The case is more than sufficient for my needs at this time. I don't travel with a laptop and I haven't traveled with it yet. I have traveled with laptops in the past but this is geared for camera equipment and thin laptop. I presently store my Sony A390 digital camera and Canon Vixia camcorder in it. I have a variety of lenses and other items that fit in it.

A good affordable product.

This camera bag provides good padded protection and adequate storage compartments for at least 2 dslrs with small to medium size attached lenses and addition space for other small photographic items. It most definitely served my needs.

Super tough bag

i wanted something different to carry my gear around in and this fits the bill. It is heavy when loaded down but can carry my nikon df with 5 lenses, card, cables a surface pro 3 and other odds and ends i lay my tripod underneath hand strap it fits perfectly there. it holds a lot and is super well made and doesn't look very camera bag-ish so less likely to be targeted for a snatch and grab the only thing i dislike is the shoulder strap is not very comfy but that might just be a me thing overall a 10 out of 10 on this one great bag for the price

Great Bag

Bags and how you use them is very personal. I like a top access bag with a certain amount of rigid structure. I also like to be able to know where things are intuitively and this bag lends itself to that. I wasn't sure the yellow interior would be a big deal to me, but I really like it. It is a big bag that you could overload if your not careful, but small enough to carry around. I'm 6'2" and weigh 225, so a smaller person might not want to carry it around all day, but it is a good transport bag. I carry 2 Nikon bodies, 17-35, 24-70, 70-200 f4, and 50 mm. Reconfigured, I could get more in it. I also use a Lowepro backpack for specific applications and a Lowepro sling to get minimal. Just to let you know where this bag fits in with me.

After a long search, I found it!

I needed a large bag (for my DSLR with 200-500mm Zoom lens), have flexibility in how compartments could be arranged and it had to offer sufficient padding/protection. It also had to be reasonable in price and have good reviews (I checked it out on multiple web-sites.) It came promptly.. Verdict: it is well-designed and does/has all I wanted. Only minor caveat.. one of side panel zippers was "sticky" (in one spot).. but a little silicon lubricant seemed to solve that. We'll see if that zipper poses any future problems...But I'd recommend it anyway; after exhaustive searching, I found no other bag that met my criteria.

GREAT Bag!

I was looking for a larger bag to carry my equipment, and this is the one I chose. So far, I love it! I'm not sure at this point that I still won't outgrow it, but for now it gets high marks from me!

Ape ACPRO1600 Professional Digital SLR

How bag is set up leaves a great deal of wasted space under the camera. Space can be reached after removing partions and camera. I've used others, but as it stands this is the bag!!!!!

Good Camera Case

I have taken this on several trips. I would usually carry a Canon EOS 50D with the battery pack, and/or a Canon 5D mk II with battery pack, or the EOS 30D with the battery pack. Included would be a 50-200 lens, and generally a 16-35mm lens. Also would carry at least 5 rechargeable batteries and extra trays for AA batteries, all this and there is still plenty of room. The biggest weight problem is the 17" laptop, which needs to go. This case is tough, easily able to handle the abuse of travel to multiple games in an ice rink.

My new travel bag

When I am traveling to shoots and I am in and out of hotels and airports, this is my new travel case. I mostly travel with a Canon 5D Mark II and my 70-210, 2.8 workhorse lens plus other accessories. Even with this large equipment there is still room for my laptop, power supply, folders and other business stuff. This bag fits in an airplane overhead and looks professional when I am in meetings. It is so big that it could become too heavy for some people if its overloaded. I wanted a bag that holds my business stuff and camera equipment that did not look like a camera bag and this is it.
