This Ape Case Professional Large Lens Case is a fantastic bargain option for your long lens, particularly if you'd like something that can double as a camera bag for short outings with camera and long lens attached. I use it for the popular Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6 lens, which slides into this case easily (with the hood reversed and collar attached). More importantly, it will also comfortably hold the lens with a full-frame camera attached (see attached photos and video). As a bonus, the bright, padded, yellow interior makes it easy to see your gear, and there are two small velcro compartments inside suitable for small items like memory cards or a wireless remote. It's extremely lightweight but feels durable and well-padded enough to withstand bumps and bruises. It's not waterproof, but it is certainly weather-resistant. Given the low price, it's an incredible value.

This case easily fits the Nikon 200-500mm lens with lens collar and mounting foot with room to spare. The lid latch is easy to operate and, though I worry it could be activated by accidentally bumping into something, the zippers help ensure the top stays closed when I want. The only significant enhancement I would suggest is a MOLLE attachment option. The belt loop is secure, but not enough to keep it stable while hiking.

I like the case overall. Fits my Nikon 200-500 while attached to a D5100, or D500. When attached to the D500, it fits snugly and I have a little trouble pulling it out of the bag. I also wish there were more options for attaching this to another bag. Overall, it's good for general use, but lacking a little for hiking.

Very surprised at the quality of this case for the price! I was a bit skeptical when I read in previous reviews that my new Nikon 200-500 mm lens would fit in this case (with hood attached), let alone while being attached to my D-500 camera! All of it fit like a glove and the design of the case added confidence that it would be safe! It comes out as easy as it goes in too. Over shoulder strap makes it easy to carry hands free while hiking to find a good location or subject.

This case fits lens and camera like a glove. Just the right size. Strap makes it easy to carry. Looked at more expensive cases but none fit lens and camera still attached as good as this one. Great buy!!

I specifically bought the Ape case to carry my Nikkor 200-500 lens with D7200 attached. Note that it is really a lens case, not a camera case, but it fits this lens/body combo perfectly, with lens hood reversed. It's well constructed and has two small pockets for memory cards.

The clasp is different to open however, nice durable case with ample room to store the lens plus the tulip lens over as well. Additional zipper for added protection storing your investment. Also includes a shoulder strap. Great product!
