Without this softbox the Aputure is kind of a 1 trick pony. This allows you to use the light up close and for soft light weight bringing an additional stand and diffuser/reflector. It really makes the LS60D/X a versatile tool. Sure you can use the Bowens mount adapter and use traditional softboxes, but that defeats the entire idea of small, portable. The thicker diffusion material does a better job of eliminating any hotspot. Adorama always does a great job of having everything you need in one place. It ships fast and is well protected during shipping.

The LS60D/x are not as useful without it.

Best diffusion I get, work's perfect with the Aputure 60D and works like a charm for my setup... I love it
