We pretty much use these for all our clients. Easy to monitor with SmartConnect, easy-to-replace batteries. Just make sure to use brand-name APC batteries as the knock-offs don't work as well.

I'm highly satisfied with my uninterruptible power supply with surge protection from APC. This floorstanding unit has tremendous battery capacity, especially considering its small footprint. It features 8 grounded outlets, a slot for a network management card, one USB-A and a SmartConnect Port, menu navigation buttons, and an easy-to-read LCD screen. It supports my network, PC, multiple monitors, modem, and router with ease. If you max it out, it will give about 24 minutes of usage during an outage; I'm running at around 30% load and get about 40 minutes. What's more, APC SmartConnect can be implemented to monitor the status of your UPC remotely if you wish, but isn't necessary to enjoy the other benefits of this product while omitting real-time monitoring from a distance. The peace of mind in knowing that there will be time to save critical work is worth investing in.

I got this UPS for my home office setup. Now that working from home has, thankfully, become more normalized, I do need to ensure that said work is protected. The famously reliable Texas power grid loves to dip out when the weather gets too hot or too cold, and I've found myself staring at a suddenly blank screen too many times. Working as a developer with AV software, I have several power hungry PCs that I need to support, and so I was looking for a larger capacity UPS. This unit has the capacity I was looking for, but is large and heavy. I wish it had handles, or grips on the case to make it easier to move around. The controls are all on the front, which is great if it's up on a shelf, but not so easy to use if the unit is sat on the floor. The black buttons on a black faceplate are also a little difficult to see, particularly if it's dark. Setup is relatively easy. Click through a few options on the device itself, plug into a router, set up an account on the APC website, and you can register/monitor the device remotely. You get a trial period with the standard monitoring plan, which you can set up to email you with warnings and errors that the device encounters. It'll let you know if the UPS has lost power or if the connection to the UPS is lost. The free plan allows you to check the device remotely, but won't do notifications. This isn't a big deal for my situation. There is a slot on the back of the unit to fit an optional network management card if you need to tie the device in with a more extensive monitoring system in a full office environment. Once running, the small screen on the device shows the battery charge level and the load as a percentage of the UPS capacity. I really like having the load visible, because with older UPS units, you never quite knew if you're plugging in too many devices. This one will warn if you are drawing more power than the batteries would be able to sustain during a power loss. Overall, seems like a good quality, solidly built unit. APC is the brand I've always seen in use at workplaces I've been employed at, and they seem pretty reliable.

I live in a place where our power goes out what seems like once a month and I work from home so this is not a great setup. However This APC keeps me working when our power is out. I have my router plugged into it and I just keep on working. Super easy to setup and I get alerts sent to my email on when the power goes out if I am not home. I have bought two more for other areas in out house and will most likely get a few more.

My wife and I both work from home and we have had some recent power failures that have left us unable to work, I selected the APC Smart-UPS SMT1500C with the hope that should it happen again we are covered. The APC Smart-UPS is very easy and straight forward to setup. I also installed the APC UPS Network Management Card 3 to help with monitoring and management. Very happy with it, everything is plugged in and running smoothly and quietly.

Being that I am a programmer and work from home, having a power backup for my computer is very important. While I do not have power outages often, I will occasionally get flickers, and when they do occur I can't work. So by using this, it gives me that extra time to continue working without disrupting whatever I was doing.

We live in a part of town that is older, and during out hot summer months we have occasional brown outs (Power drops enough to cause electrical items to shutoff/restart) and having this happen to your server at home is not conducive to a long life of the raid, cpu and other items. However, by installing the APC UPS, we've mitigated this by always supplying the server, our router and the switch with 120 VAC even during times when our power drops to 20VAC (our brown out voltages). I cannot recommend installing a UPS enough to anyone who needs to ensure their server uptime is maximized.

This is very reliable UPS. The unit is heavy as it's 1500VA but the shape makes it very stable. There is a fan that turns on only if the unit is operation on batteries. Normally the unit is silent. The runtime on 85W is above 2h which is great.

Great unit... unfortunately our old one has an internal fault and won't recover even after battery replacement. The problem with these small form factor Smart-UPS units is re-sellers list the 600w model with "Smart Connect" and a VERY misleading feature. That "Smart Connect" doesn't connect to our enterprise switch, as we do with our AP9630 UPS Network Management Card. Even the photo leads one to believe that RJ45 connector is all ready to plug into your network. It is not. APC should take steps to clarify that. As it is now we're looking at Tripp Lite as an alternative so we know what we're getting. Sorry APC. misleading information isn't good for your business model.

Newer version of the standard 1000VA Tower UPS Unit, but now it comes with the new SmartConnect remote monitor software which works great. Highly recommended if you don't have a large amount of equipment to protect.

Our former APC UPS lasted 14 years, with only 2 battery changes - true workhorse! This new UPS is updated, so will be able to handle our multiple peripherals and respective software. Though having just purchased it, we're confident it will take us through upcoming years without incident!
