I've been shooting for 35+ years and just recently decided to try Macro. I am using a Tamron SP60 f/2.0 Di II 1:1 AF lens with this ring attached i am able to keep shadows to a bare minimum or create shadows with only one half turned off. Still learning it though. Great for what I need it for. Someday may have to upgrade my equipment as I get better.

I chose the Aputure Ring Flash light because I wanted a light for macro without spending a lot for it, since it is something I don't use regularly. I like this ring flash because it does give even light especially when you are getting in close and may need some extra light. You can adjust the power of the light and leave it on as opposed to flashing. It is not very sophisticated but you can adjust the power to what looks right. It is not a TTL flash. It is very light weight.

This product works very well for what I purchased it for. For portraiture in low light conditions it really allows for me to have some light on the subjects face while not making the background too much lighter. I received it very quickly and it is extremely easy to figure out how to use. The controls are very simple and useful and I will continue to use this light for years to come!

Nice quality light for macro work and some portraiture. Compatible with anything. There are a ton of plastic rings for various lens sizes. It's a total mess without some sort of carry bag. They really should have included something.

I would definitely recommend this to others! I love that it has different levels of brightness that you can adjust & that you can change the light to use the full halo or just half. That makes it easier for me to have more options & see what works best for the environment I'm in.

I don't use it a lot, it is ok for jobs that do not require a lot of flash power or speed. good for flowers and things like that

This fits my Canon 7D perfectly, and the kit comes with an adapter ring that fits all three of my lenses. As a novice to Macro work, this is a very handy accessory. Its built solidly, and works as advertised.
