Just knowing that the education advertisement video for this product was filmed only using these lights really turned me off. The video is horrible and the lighting is one of the many reasons that it is. The lighting is very harsh and makes the woman look like she is under a light. It should not look like that but look natural.

These are, in my opinion, some of the best budget LED's available. I have 4 of them in Wide, Spot, and Color, and all have performed consistently. To find a light in this price range with a 95 CRI rating is crazy, and I can say from experience that the CRI is consistent from unit to unit. The kit comes ready to attach to your light stand - including the power brick, stand adapter, filters, and bag. No batteries are included. I might seem trivial, but I like that the cord between the brick and the plug is plenty long enough to put these on a 6' stand and allow the brick to lay on the floor. I also like the variability knob, though as with most inexpensive LED's, the output tends to jump from 0 to about 20. I HIGHLY recommend getting the matching EZ box or diffuser kit, as the light tends to be a bit hard even with the clear panel installed. The EZ box kit screws in to 1/4" receivers on either side of the panel and works like a charm. The only drawback to the Aputure units, in my experience, has been that the standard "W" model tends to put out just a bit more lumens than the "C" model (with variable Kelvin temp). If you're using these to light a backdrop, make sure that you're using matching models.
