Perfect Rain Cover for Canon EOS 50D

This past weekend I photographed all-day wedding activities in Capon Springs, WV. One of these activities was a golf tournament, which the early forecast called for frequent rain. I ordered this product specifically so I could shoot the golf tournament regardless of weather and it did not disappoint. It rained steadily in the morning for the golf tournament and the camera I was using (a Canon EOS 50D with 70-200mm lens) did not get wet at all. More importantly, the cover did not impeded my use of the camera allowing me to operate it to its full potential. One special note - you need to also purchase the eyepiece adapter sold separately as well: [@]

Perfect for rainy outdoor photography.

Really useful for rainy football photography and outdoor wildlife pictures in the mist, rain, or snow.

Simply the best

This product must be bought with an eye piece as part of the "system." This is definitely the good stuff and beats wrapping the camera in plastic or any other make-shift configuration to keep the camera and lens dry. I shoot with a Canon 40D, L glass lenses, and couldn't be happier. Well, I'd be happier if it cost less, but protecting my equipment is worth it. Aqua Tech has their USA offices in California and are available via phone for support if needed. I'm hard to please and I have no complaints at all.

I plan to buy another

I purchased this item for outdoor photography and outdoor sports. It's does what it's supposed to do. I am using this item with a Nikon D700 with battery-grip and a Nikkor AF-S VR 70-200mm f2.8. It fits with the lens hood attached. Even with the lens hood attached there is still some small slack, so it's not stretched.

Outstanding Protection

The rain cover will protect your equipment even in heavy down pours. I have tried using ziplock bags, and cheaper rain covers, that work ok in a drizzle, but when it starts raining hard, the AquaTech covers stand alone.

Foul Weather Gear for your Camera

I bought this cover to protect my camera during a sailing regatta where rain was predicted and it worked extremely well. Both camera and lens (28mm - 300mm Canon L Series) remained dry throughout the day, which is more than I can say for me. I did have an accidental control access that I didn't notice for many shots because the viewport is difficult to see through, but I'll accept that for the extra protection in snow and rain. It is a great product that I would buy again, and will for my next lens thtat doesn't fit in this cover.

• Sport Shields are designed to protect professional Cameras and Lenses from adverse weather conditions such as wind, rain, salt air and sand. They are designed to accommodate and protect most SLR film and Digital Cameras.
• Sport Shield Rain covers are manufactured using a versatile, high performance and multi-layer barrier fabric system. This design seals the fabric with a series of coatings or layers that prevent driving rain, water, snow or dust from entering the fabric.
• The Multi Layer Barrier Fabric System sandwiches the textile. The outside faceis treated with a TEFLON® water repellant finish preventing surface absorption of water, dirt, dust and oil. The inside surface is coated with THREE successive layers of a specially engineered formula which combine to create a tough, durable and permanent waterproof system.
• Independent textile testing indicates an exceptionally high hydrostatic head averaging 10,000+mm (160kpa). It requires more than 10 meters of vertical water pressure directly on this fabric before any penetration could occur. The special coating will stay waterproof for the life of the garment.
• Tests conducted show an average breathability of 8,000 grams of water vapor per square meter of fabric per day. For comparison, leading waterproof fabrics rate between 3,000 and 5,000 grams per square meter per day.
