I purchased th Asus ZenWiFi XT9 to replace an ISP provided router. Limited software and residential customer support limited device access. Research showed that the Asus ZenWiFi XT9, an upgraded version of the XT8, was the logical option. Installation and network device configuration was straightforward. Software functionality, firmware upgrade, customer support and warranty all outstanding. Wired and WiFi connectivity on my 1GB network function flawlessly - great upload and download speeds. No latency issues. I am now back in control of my network environment. I highly recommend this product for anyone looking to upgrade their network.

I am thrilled with the 2 pack system I purchased. I had a competitor's product that should be used like its name, as TP. Nonetheless, the Asus product is always reliable, always available, no jitter or breakup signals, and has more configuration options than ever expected. I am thrilled with this product.

Bought this Asus Zen XT8 Mesh system about 3 weeks ago to replace an older Router as part of an upgrade to Fiber Internet service. The system came quickly and packaged well. The setup was not too difficult however, I have to agree with other reviewers that other than the quick start guide, which directs you to the Asus App, there wasn't much in the way of instructional material or videos. The App worked pretty well but there is a lot this system is capable of and it will take a while to fine tune the system to my needs and to take advantage of all it can offer. Also, since this was replacing an older router that had the same password for a few years as a security caution I decided to set this up with a new name and password. This of course meant I had to login to all the clients in the home with the new name and password. This took a while and one of my older, 2.4G only clients gave me a bit of an issue but eventually got it all worked out. It would have been easier and faster if I had kept the old routers name and password. My house is a little older, so I set this up as a wireless backhaul. I also let the router decide which band to choose for the different clients, 2.4 or 5G. So far there have been no issues with all the different clients running and I'm very impressed with the speed both up and down. I have a 600Mbps service and I am consistently getting around 400 to 500 Mbps down and 400+ Mbps up on my 5G phone. Some of the older devices are around 300 Mbps down and 250+ up depending where in the house you are. The big thing is the coverage has been great! This set up got rid of all my dead spots and increased the coverage out in both the front and back yards. This is all without doing any fine tuning. The Asus is way faster than what I had, and the coverage is greater. Overall, I would recommend this to others and would give it a solid 4.5 rating! I didn't give it a 5 because of the lack of some better instructional help from Asus on setup and all the different features and I've only been using it for about 3 weeks so I can't comment on longevity!

Bought this to extend the capabilities of my Centurylink DSL network. Easy to set up and deploy. Two nodes supply great wifi coverage to our 2500 sq foot home and outdoor patio areas. Could not be happier.

Was ready for a new mesh system and researched many. Read the PC Mag review and was impressed. It pointed me to Amazon which offered it at an even lower price - sold! Setup was easy peazy for a two-unit set which gave great coverage. Happy so far, been a week, will update if need to. It was replacing a 6-yr Amplifi which had two satellites which gave great coverage until it didn't. Very satisfied it lasted that long, but no mention in recent rankings or reviews.

Purchased a couple of months ago to replace a "functional" circa 2013 router that required 2 extenders to kind of cover my house. Should have upgraded years ago. 100% coverage at maximum (that I pay for) bandwidth and no buffering.

My setup: Multilevel townhouse, 1800 sqf, Bell HH3000 with 4 wifi pods and 300Mbps plan. Bell wifipods started to failed and were not able to deliver simultaneous video calls from 3 users, so I decided to explore wifi mesh options. Runners up were TP Link and Asus XT9, but decided to go with Asus as I needed three separated bands. Close to 30 IoT devices (all dependent exclusively on 2.4GHz), plus remaining devices (20), gaming, laptops, etc using 5GHz. The Switch: Easy setup, I just disabled the Bell HH3000 wifi networks and reused the same SSID name, same passwords, so in less than 20 mins, both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks, with all 50 wifi devices were connected up/running from Asus XT9. No way I'd be setting up new wifi access for all 50 devs. Key points: - Bell HH3000 is on the basement, so I played around putting the 2nd XT9 node in the first floor, then moved it upstairs to the 2nd floor. Tested three days on each configuration. Both cases the connection between the master and the 2nd node (wifi backhaul) was solid (-65 dBm). Both cases the wifi 5.2GHz band was used exclusively for both nodes to talk. - Adding back again Bell HH3000 wifi (dummy SSIDs) impacts negatively current active wifi channels used by XT9, so Bell HH3000 had its wifi disabled and no issues to report since. Still you have the option to change those channels via XT9, but I decided not to do it. - Speed tests done across the entire house matches my 300Mbps Bell internet plan, so no more wifi dead spots. - Asus XT9 user interface offer tons of setup and customization. - I'm a NordVPN user, so I was able to setup my VPN credentials on the XT9 and all 48 devices (including IoT) are behind VPN, consuming only one active VPN connection. Amazon Echo (2) were the only two devices that will not allow a VPN connection (Now I'm wondering why... someone is still listening...). Final comments: - Pricey, yes, but it works, rock solid. - Before (wifi pods), Sunday afternoon, when all of us were home, there was a battle of multiple streaming devices hammering those wifi pods and leading to 2 screaming teens and a non-stop complaining wife. - Now (XT9), Sunday afternoon is very quiet and I have a happy wife. :)

Recently upgraded my modem and router. I bought the ASUS Zenwifi XT9 charcoal 2 pack via Amazon. The delivery was quick, two days. I read the installation instruction prior to the delivery. I had downloaded the iOS app before hand. I had opened the box and connected the router and satellite to power and modem. Opened the application and followed each step. The router was up and running in minutes, no fuss. After a few days, so far so good.

I purchased these a few months ago to replace outdated Apple Airport Wifi components. I'm not an IT expert so ease of setup was extremely important to me. The online instructions were simple and exact. My setup was completed in very little time. I have a 3400 square ft home with nearly 50 devices connected to my network from my Mac to my smart plugs and the ASUS ZenWifi AX works perfectly for my needs.

Our 8 year old router was experiencing dead zones in a number of areas in our home and slow speeds. This mesh router produces a fast, steady Wi-Fi signal throughout the house and now extends the signal to our detached workshop and also to our backyard bird feeder camera. Setup was quick and simple. It has lived up to all its promises for us.

Picked up the two pack of XT8 mesh Wi-Fi routers a month or two ago. Disabled the supposedly "great" Wi-Fi from my high-end Motorola modem/router and plugged it into the XT8. Setup is very easy using the app, but you can drill down to precise controls if you want to. Wi-Fi strength in the house is a given for a mesh setup, but I have full signal at all corners of my property. Also, the XT8 handles 2.4 vs 5 GHz handoffs very well. I have multiple devices that are 2.4 only that work well now. Great stuff, and they look nice too!

I purchased this product after reading numerous good reviews online. This replaced an older Asus RT-N66U which had been rock solid since 2014. I was looking for better coverage of the entire house on the 5G band. My cable modem is located in the basement, and I don't have ethernet run elsewhere, so while coverage from basement has been adequate on 2.4 GHz, I hoped the Wi-Fi 6 mesh unit would do better. I located the router in the basement, and the node near the ceiling of the floor above - nearly directly over the router. Setup was easy, though you need to patiently wait for the device to complete some of the steps. Testing afterward indicated good to excellent coverage to all target areas in the 2-story home on 5G.

I purchased this to replace an aging Linksys router that was no longer up to the task of handling the number of smart home devices currently in use. I spent considerable time deciding between brands, specs, and cost before choosing XT8. Setup was as easy as it gets; the Asus app is a big step up from my previous Linksys app, and aided in making the setup smooth w/no hiccups. So far, performance has improved across all devices, and I no longer experience some of the issues I had with my previous system. All in all, a great system at a nice price point.

I've had other Asus routers before, which I why I bought this one. It's got a lot of really nice features, especially the whole house WiFi. I had an eero (I'd recommend passing on these -- they're nowhere near configurable enough, and basic features each require a monthly subscriptions). This one is quite fast and is capable of keeping my 1Gbps internet connection busy. I did have some issues getting it to connect through my cable modem, but time fixed it (magically). I also had issues with some of my laptops connecting the WiFi, until I turned of 802.11ax. A little digging uncovered that issue. Overall, solid product with great features.

Works well I'm our 1932 house. Lots of brick and lath and plaster walls to cause signal problems but with two units coverage is very good.

takes some technical skill to understand and navigate through all the menu items. Also disappointed that the ability to attach a USB drive to the router/mesh is limited to drives under 2TB.

Took some time to get the one node in the right place. Once that got dialed-in, it works great! On a 1 gigabit fiber connection my ethernet connected (from node) streaming device consistently averages 800mbps. As for wireless, I get north of 600mbps basically anywhere in an average two story 2000 sq ft home.

Stopped working on month after return window from Amazon. Asus Support was terrible, they wanted me to submit an RTM and said it could be 6-8 weeks to get a refurbished unit. Amazon ultimately took the unit back but charged me an $80 restocking fee.......do not buy products from these unethical companies!
