Asus Flip

I really like this little chromebook for its portability and simple but sleek form factor. It was out of stock at the time of purchase but was shipped from the manufacturer directly and arrived in resonable time. It does what I need it to do so far. It is the first chromebook I have owned so it took a little getting used to but once you get the hang of it its a great little machine.

Great Service and Laptop

Laptop was shipped quick and packaged very well. The laptop is a great little unit. If your familiar with android, you will find it pretty simple to operate. So if your looking for a nice little laptop/ tablet, this is a great product.

Windows - Like startup issues

Long time Google/Gmail user, first time chromebook - OS user. No instructions included, not even a quick start manual, leaving one to wonder about the lack of a delete key, operation of the mouse, etc. The machine crashed during the second computing session, leaving one to google the error and go through a lengthy, confusing, faulty O/S reload which requires another computer and sd card (the USB stick did not work as advised). I was optimistic about making a big step forward in my migration away from windows, but it looks like its going to take a lot more work, and googling for advice on how to operate this simple machine. Three stars because most people rate it consistently higher. I am hours into it and not much has been accomplished, certainly no time saving and any convenience.

Amazing Chromebook/Tablet, now with Google Play

While Chromebooks are not for everyone, the Chromebook Flip now has access to the Google Play Store and all the Android apps that are in there. I love the design of the Flip, it is fast enough for my needs, the keyboard feels a little cramped but the keys are great. Amazing price, amazing gadget!

Solid performer so far

Solid performer so far.. had it about three weeks. Relatively light, screen is a bit dimmer that other laptops I own, but not a big deal. I like the computer, I am a big fan of Chromebooks.

Great for seniors who know only tablets

I purchased this for my 85 year old mother to replace her aging ipad. She does not know how to use a seperate keyboard and mouse combination, only how to use a touch screen. Because she does a lot of e-mail, I purchased the Asus Flip as I feel she will quickly learn how to use the touch screen for navigation and the keyboard for typing her e-mails instead of the onscreen keyboard. If she doesn't, she can still choose to use the Flip just as she used her ipad. I really like the simplicity and cost of Chromebooks and the way Google keeps them up to date without being obtrusive. IMO, Chromebooks are the perfect computers for seniors, children and people like myself, who while being comfortable with technology (I am an EE with a Computer Science concentration), just want to get things done using the Internet and web applications. I personally have three Chromebooks with different features such as different I/O, 3G and display size. I like this Asus Flip concept the best and will get one for my wife eventually.

Just by this thing. You can't go wrong at this price. However, there are a few improvements I wish they'd make: Higher resolution screen Smaller bezel Backlit keyboard Of course, such improvements would increase the cost.
