I just bought this durring Amazon prime week. My old ASUS ROG strix from 2017 was dying. After a highly demanding architecture master degree and running giantbrendeing files for years. I bought this because it seems to meet the requirements of AutoCAD, Revit, Enscape, Rhino, SketchUp and VRay. So far the screen is just as big as my old 17" laptop (this is a 16"). I'm interested to see how the "secret" number pad on the mouse works. But it's lighter and nicer looking. I haven't gotten to upload everything yet, but it looks good so far.

I've been using this laptop as my daily all in one work/gaming rig. Performs great with everything I throw at it. RGB for those who love the vibes and amazing sound out of the built in speaks. Very well rounded laptop.

Closest match to purchased laptop. Reviewed laptop model in title. Performance is great when stable. Screen likes to blank out sometimes, mostly when changing from performance to boost. The mode change is triggered when you plug in the power supply. Coil noise can definitely be heard but doesn't bother me much. Runs very cool. For the price I would expect smoother and quicker response times. Not happy with the default ram shipped with unit. At this price point the ram frequency should be higher and the built in camera should be higher resolution. The keyboard picks up oil extremely easy (even with clean hands) and requires regular cleaning. Build materials could be slightly better. Other than that, its pretty solid but only worth it if you have money to throw away. Oh and the keyboard lighting is not consistent. It changes modes and goes out about once every 5 reboots which is way bad. You have to go in and change settings to get it back to what it should be.

I am doing maps and photogrametry for 5 years now and decoded to get this laptop to run my mapping softwares. This softwares are heavy load and process tons of data in a relative short ammount of time. The ROG Strix is working perfectly, no crashes, no interruptions just perfect. Recommended.

This is a year's worth of usage but I have to say, this little ROG laptop was a worthwhile workhorse for gaming and everyday college use! There are two drawbacks, namely the inability to do RAID 0 and the occasional GPU glitch, but all in all, will definitely buy again!
