I bought this several months ago and it has ran the programs I needed it to run flawlessly. The programs were blue beam, revit, navisworks, cad, ect. I also game on it and it is very smooth.

Bought this for the kid, and was hoping it was powerful enough for PCVR games and, wow, I can play most VR games on ULTRA. Granted, it sounds like a Dyson Vacuum while overclocking like that but, so far, it's been super reliable, and the kid loves it. I was so thrilled with the purchase, I'm building my own PC with 80%+ Asus ROG Strix components!

I've never really had a computer like this, and while I don't really game, this computer is smooth and stylish. The keyboard settings are awesome, and the settings on the computer are clear and unique. Definetly would recommend to others.

I'm not a big big fan of the camo texture, since it look like dusty from far away, even if I'm an FPS gamer. Pros : - Comfy to work on - Good spec - VR Ready - Slim and not too heavy to hold compare to the old Asus gaming laptop - Battery doesn't heat up too too bad compare to the old Asus gaming laptop Cons : - I don't notice it, but people around me say is a bit loud. - Webcam on the bottom + quality isn't that great - I have some RGB flicker bottom leds of my Laptop - Price drop down in a year due to the RTX, you can get a better laptop or desktop now.

Runs amazing. have no yet run into any thermal throttling issues. Without undervolt runs at 85-93c while running games like overwatch, fallout 4 etc at max settings.

I bought this nearly a full year ago, so plenty of time to try it out. Here are my thoughts on the product: Overall, nearly everything about the laptop is perfect. I appreciate the thin bezels, fans are good, CPU and GPU perform well and it looks very slick. Battery life is pretty darn good considering this thing has a 2060 in it (same idea for the 2070 model). Small things such as the mic and webcam are good as well and there is generally great ease of use. The certain things I didn't quite like were the webcam placement, specific parts of the RGB on the keyboard and certain features concerning "Aura" in the Armoury Crate. First of all, the webcam is at an awkward spot in the bottom right of the laptop's "top side". When you use it the camera sees up your nostrils and no matter the angle it won't be perfect unless you are 2'1 (0.6349m) and are on the far right side of the laptop. As for the Keyboard, the keyboard itself is great but the bottom part of the LED strip facing you on the space key died after about 3-7 days after I received it. I read about it online and other have reported that they never had it light up. Besides being a bit annoying, it doesn't do much, so it's not as important compared to the rest. Finally, the Aura section of the Armoury Crate has been working very strangely since about 5 months ago. Before that, I had no problem changing through the keyboard RGB styles and brightness with either the keyboard shortcuts or the AC, but there was an update around 5 months ago (around the time they introduced the "Starry Night" style), where directly trying to change the RGB or styles wouldn't work. When multiple kinds of rainbow were introduced to the AC, they also would not change. Not sure why this is an issue. In Conclusion, the GL704GV is a great laptop for gaming and work, has a wonderful design, and is just a joy to use. I would have given the product a 5 star if it wasn't for the bad qualities, but in the end, the good outweighs the bad.

I bought this laptop right after deployment about 2 months ago. The packaging was awesome, the laptop looks and feels great, the graphics look amazing, but there was one flaw. The only problem I’ve had with the ROG Strix Scar 2 is the track pad. It has a delay or at times won’t register the movements, or it freezers all together. Ive tried getting it resolved through Best Buy where I bought it but they offered no help. Besides that the laptop is amazing, perfect for gaming, homework and movies. The fan volume when playing high resolution games like red dead aren’t bad, not to loud and this laptop handles really good.

I bought the GL704GM(17inch) a couple months ago, the design is amazing. I liked how slick the lid is, the camo that follows the same design on the lid over the keyboard. The nice front light bar is cool as well. I really like the use of Armoury Crate and how easy it is to access with its own key, as well as the hyperfan feature. Every game I've played runs smoothly. One thing that took awhile getting used to was how the fan blows out on the right side, so it warms your hand. At first it was obnoxious, but now it's actually pretty nice.
