Figured replacing my at least 5 year old Asus Modem/Router with fancy new tech would be an upgrade. It is when you count on the things I don't use like AiMesh. But WiFi 6 didn't make anything faster as the box said it would. Works great, but disappointed due to no increase in speed.

I bought this ASUS RT- AX82U router this week and I'm so glad I did. Setup was a breeze and all my streaming devices, phones, cameras and everything else using WiFi are blazing fast now. I'm totally loving it and the app is also amazing. It's a far cry above the Netgear product I was using. WELL DONE ASUS!!!

Got this to replace an older Linksys gaming router. Needed one for gaming and streaming and this one fits the bill perfectly. Didn't break the bank and the initial setup was quick and easy. After playing with it for a few wees , have found more features and can even make adjustments with my phone. Awesome product.

I spent almost 4 weeks researching several+ different models of routers. I wanted something that would replace my dependable but aging AirPort Extreme. It needed to be easy to deploy, provide dependable wifi signal range throughout my modest size house, stout enough for tv streaming, secure for my daily home office activities, and intuitive for any troubleshooting or expanding I may encounter - attributes similar to my AirPort Extreme. Product reviews for both the product & its manufacturer needed to be consistently good across the board. The ASUS RT-AX82U ticked all the boxes. I am delighted with my decision as install & setup went without any issues. All of my devices auto-connected & I was good to go within 15+ minutes. The only thing left to confirm is this router's longevity. Time will tell. Btw, I was impressed with the ASUS RT-AX82U's packaging. It was clear to me ASUS is proud of its product by showcasing it in visually outstanding as well as robust packaging. That said, I am confident I made the right decision. Several hours later as my day winds down, wifi signal is strong through out my house. My iPad signal indicator remains @ full strength no matter where I am in my house. Ookla's Speedtest app shows a nice bounce in my broadband speed as well. I am certainly not a tech expert. But I know enough to do basic tech stuff. Even my neighbor was pleasantly surprised to see how quickly & efficiently I got things up & running. Thanks ASUS for a wonderful experience!

This was an upgrade from Google Nest Wifi 5 but I did have a previous Asus router before that so I am a bit familiar. For my 2 story townhome of 1700 sq ft one router does the job. I use the Smart Connect feature with QOS turned off as it's only 2 people max who use Internet at the same time. Many customizable features in GUI and if you like to trial-and-error stuff to see what works best for you then ASUS routers may be your cup of tea.

I bought this router because my ISP's router buffered all the time. I'm happy I did. No more buffering and it was easy to set up.

I bought this router 2 months ago when I signed up for 1 Gig Fiber internet. I needed a faster router to take advantage of my new internet provider. It was extremely easy to set up. I just walked through the installation wizard. I did have one glitch after about 6 weeks. For some reason it lost connection to the internet. I pushed the reset button and went back through the install wizard. I don't know what caused the glitch but is working fine now. I got it at Best Buy for $150. Amazon had it for $144. Great prices for an AX router that will do 1 Gig. My son can now use his Xbox while I am streaming.

My recent purchase of the ASUS RT-AX82U Wi-Fi 6 router is my third ASUS product. I own an ASUS ROG G750JX 17" laptop and purchased this router to replace my 10 year old, dual band, ASUS RT-N66R which was still performing admirably. Quite frankly, it's due to the rock steady performance of my N66R and my ASUS laptop for all these years that I knew I wanted another ASUS device. Oh, I did my homework comparing various models I felt would meet my needs from all the manufacturers before making the purchase but pretty much knew I would end up with another ASUS. The general opinion seems to be to upgrade every 3-5 years due to technological advancements, but I wondered how many people have routers that last and provide good service for that long, let alone 10 years. My goals in upgrading to a wi-fi 6 router were to future-proof somwhat with a router that works with my current wi-fi 5 devices. I also hoped I might see some performance increase with my current devices but didn't expect the boost to be as great as what I've experienced. I own a small split level home with four levels, have (20) wi-fi devices and subscribe to my cable companies 100 Mbps internet plan. My devices include 4k tvs, pc, multimedia receiver, numerous Alexa & Google Home devices, numerous Samsung Anroid tablets and smart phone. My RT-N66R is a dual-band (2.4 & 5 Ghz) that resided in my office on the uppermost level of my home but was able to provide the minimum throughput to support 4k streaming on my tvs and solid performance for all my other devices regardless of their location. That includes Alexa devices in my finished basement area where the signal has to travel through two floors and multiple walls. The only caveat in the basement was an inability to reliably maintain 4k streaming for tv. I also had coverage on my rear deck, back yard and even to the end of my front driveway. I can only imagine the extent of this new router's range but, whatever it is, it will be more than I need. Based on the performance and durability of every ASUS product I've purchased it's easy to understand my affinity and allegiance to the brand. I knew upgrading would provide a significant boost in performance to wi-fi 6 devices and increase my signal strength throughout the house but was genuinely surprised with the performance boost my new router provided to my existing devices. I ran speed tests at various locations in my home before changing over to the AX82U and was genuinely surprised by the speed test increases realized in the same locations afterward. My weakest reception was in the basement, as expected, where I averaged 13 Mbps download speed and 8 Mbps upload speed prior to upgrading. After upgrading, that same location went from an average of 13 Mbps download speed to an average of 95 Mbps, and the average upload speed went from 8 Mbps to 9.6 Mbps. In the living room my average download speed went from 25 Mbps to 97 Mbps and upload speed went from 8 Mbps to 9.7 Mbps. In fact my new average download speed anywhere/everywhere is 96 Mbps, so I know the AX82U has better range than my old router. By how much I can't say but get the impression it's pretty significant from what I'm seeing and from others' reviews. I'm seeing a very noticeable reduction in load and execution times with most apps on tvs, pc, tablets and phone. I also ran the video test and verified the maximum resolution of 2160p (4K) is good for video on large devices throughout the house, including the basement, and have yet to see any buffering of my YouTube TV streaming service on any of my tvs, including my biggest set, a 65" Samsung Q7 Series QLED. Setting up the AX82U was a straight forward and pleasant experience. It can be set up by either accessing their website using your computer or by using their mobile app on your phone. I chose the latter and was very impressed with the ease of doing so. The mobile app offers a very user-friendly interface and is easy to navigate. I chose to simplify my setup by providing the same SSID and password as used by my N66R which allowed all of my devices to connect without any reconfiguration and it worked beautifully. I appreciate the router's use of QoS to enable prioritizing individual devices, ASUS's intergration of lifetime AiProtection Pro security via Trend Micro, WPA3 and that it's AiMesh compatible even though I doubt I'd ever need it in my small home. But based on my experience, ASUS products provide better value because they offer more features than the competition understanding that certain features need to be provided while knowing they will be important to some but not to others. I'm not a gamer so I probably won't benefit as much from the Mobile Game Mode and don't need parental controls. I wasn't sure how I felt about the Aura RGB lighting but am enjoying it's uniqueness and it's various modes. I had been following the price for the RT-AX82U for quite a long time and finally purchased it as part of Best Buy's Black Friday sale. I feel it's normal price had it well positioned compared to competitive models but since my, now old, ASUS was still doing the job I had the luxury of waiting for a good deal. I've only been using my new router for a short time so I can't rave about it's longevity ... yet, but hope and expect it will provide the top-notch service and reliability as has been my experience with ASUS devices. As one might imagine I highly recommend this router but, based on past experience, I feel I could probably recommend any ASUS product.

I have been running this router for a 2 weeks now with good results. I had no dropped internet connections and I'm getting good coverage through out the house. Plus this router was easy to set up with many options.

I've had this router for over a week now, and it has solved all the connection issues we have been having! My husband and I each have a computer, plus iPads and iPhones. I also have two sons with partners and two grandchildren as well; each with phones and devices of one sort or another. When they are all here at one time, we've definitely had problems getting everyone connected at once. I love our new router!

I typically run 4 iPhones with NDI over WiFi 6 into Wirecast. To make that work I set up a private network using this router and feed the video to the Mac using a Cat5 connection. I suppose it would work fine for normal WiFi stuff too. ??.
