While the ne4800 Network Enabled Protea DSP Audio System Processor with 4-Ch AES3 Inputs and Dante Option Card is a complex piece of audio equipment, its purpose is simple: to streamline the connection and control of an audio processor for networked systems. This digital signal processor is a perfect companion to our amplifiers, offering effortless setup and control through standard 10/100 Ethernet protocol and Protea ne Software, eliminating the need for special outboard control units.The ne4800 is a part of our analog line input/output format series, which includes the ne4400 (4x4), ne4800 (4x8), and ne8800 (8x8). It comes with four option bays that support network audio, AES3, and mic input options. The processor's extensive DSP signal processing library is powered by multiple SHARC 32-Bit processors with sample rates of either 48kHz or 96kHz.The processing blocks of the ne4800 include a matrix mixer (available in 4x4, 4x8, or 8x8), a comprehensive range of graphic, parametric, and all pass equalization, and crossover filters such as 8th-order Butterworth, Bessel, Linkwitz-Riley, and notched Linkwitz-Riley. The Protea Software Suite also features an advanced automatic feedback suppressor, FIR filter capability, gain sharing automatic microphone mixing, ambient noise sensing and level adjustment, autolevelers, compressors, matrix duckers, limiters, frequency-keyed noise gates, and signal delay up to 1,365ms on every channel. Additionally, you can choose from sinewave, pink, or white noise generators.Programming the ne4800 is straightforward using standard 10/100 Ethernet or RS-232 protocol and Protea ne Software on a PC platform. The hot-plug software control allows you to plug any function into any channel block even when running live audio, with no recompiling necessary. The automatic DHCP network IP configuration further simplifies network setup time. The multi-level software security with password access ensures a tamper-proof audio system.The ne4800's architecture includes four inputs and eight outputs, with the processor using fixed-path architecture and hot-plugable audio functions anywhere in the signal path to reduce set-up time. The rear panel features Euroblock connectors, including eight logic input or output connections, plus eight remote potentiometer level controls. Word clock input and output BNC connections are provided for digital audio frame locking to a house sync. The DSP processor is designed to mount in a standard 19" rack using 2 spaces (3.5" high).Compatible with Microsoft Windows 8, 7 (Vista/XP) 32 & 64 bit systems, the Protea DSP is intuitive and easy to navigate, making it a favorite among audio professionals.
