This high-performance processor, complete with 8-Ch AES3 Outputs and a CNM-2 CobraNet Option Card, is designed to streamline the connection and control of audio processors for networked systems.
The ne8800 is a key component of our Protea DSP series, which is renowned for its easy setup and control using the standard 10/100 Ethernet protocol and Protea ne Software. This eliminates the need for special outboard control units. The ne8800 model boasts an 8x8 analog line input/output format, with four option bays that support network audio, AES3, and mic input options.
At the heart of this processor is an extensive DSP signal processing library, powered by multiple SHARC 32-Bit processors. These processors offer sample rates of either 48kHz or 96kHz, ensuring high-quality audio output. The processing blocks include a versatile 8x8 matrix mixer, a comprehensive array of graphic, parametric, and all-pass equalization, and crossover filters. These filters include 8th-order Butterworth, Bessel, Linkwitz-Riley, and notched Linkwitz-Riley.
The Protea Software Suite enhances the functionality of the ne8800 with an advanced automatic feedback suppressor, FIR filter capability, gain sharing automatic microphone mixing, ambient noise sensing and level adjustment, autolevelers, compressors, matrix duckers, limiters, frequency-keyed noise gates, and signal delay up to 1,365ms on every channel. It also includes your choice of sinewave, pink or white noise generators.
The ne8800 is designed for seamless integration into your audio system. It features automatic DHCP network IP configuration for reduced network setup time, and multi-level software security with password access for a tamper-proof audio system. All programming is accomplished using standard 10/100 Ethernet or RS-232 protocol and Protea ne Software on a PC platform.
