first time buyer would buy again

I like the computer. There are somethings that you have to learn on your own. One thing i can not get the number lock to work. Other than that it is great

Worth for the price

I purchased this in Jun-2013. This is a personal laptop which i gave as gift to my brother. After a month usage. His comments are as following. 1) Touch screen functions well. 2) Processing speed is good. 3) Keyboard is comforatble. 4) body is stylish. Also he mentioned the following cons. for the price Adoram is offering, i feel the below points can be neglected. 1) Audio quality is very poor. He mentioned that even if he turn the voice bar to 100%, the audio is not coming out as expected. This could be due to improper placement of speakers. ( I noticed if i lift the laptop, the sound looks high. but when i place the laptop on table or ground, i too noticed that the sound is not as expected). 2) It feels heavier. 3) To open the laptop screen, sometimes i feel its hard.

Great Computer

This is my personal computer. Its speed is great!! The only downside is Windows 8. It seems to take time to get used to it!

Great laptop

I write novels after my 9:00 - 5:00, so I basically live on my computer, and I wanted to pick up something that would also be able to run games, play music and whatnot. So far, this has done the trick. I thought I wouldn't use the touchscreen, but I do actually find it an additional layer of functionality. It's a bit picky and you certainly can't use it the way you would a tablet, but why would you with an enormous keyboard? It starts up extremely quickly and it runs quietly and coolly. It gets along with all of the programs I use, runs video and music fine, and for a laptop, it has pretty decent speakers. I've had no trouble with the ethernet. Games have run smoothly so far through Steam. It hasn't choked on my endlessly long documents, even though I'm editing them in Open Office, and the really large PDFs I sometimes load have loaded quickly. Downsides: Windows 8 is unfortunately just as aggravating as people say it is, but we can't fault the laptop for that. I know people are in love with chicklet keyboards, but I just can't like them. The one truly aggravating thing is that the trackpad is finnicky. It often thinks I'm entering the shortcut for switching windows or going fullscreen when I'm just trying to move the cursor, and it takes a lot of fiddling with the settings to get it to stop. Still, if that's the only problem I encounter, and so far that does seem to be the case, this is a great way for getting Desktop power and speed out of a portable machine.

This is a great computer. I love the touch screen and I even like Windows 8 the more I learn to use it. I really recommend the ASUS. I also have had great service from Adorama.

For casual browsing

Well built laptop - resolution could have been better instead of age old 1366x768. Touch screen is fast & responsive.

So far so good!

The price is great; it's quite fast for what I need. And I really like the touch screen with Windows 8. I can more easily organize and access the programs I use most.

great product

I love this product. It is weird getting used to windows 8, but Asus provides you with software that allows you to get all the short cuts new features you need to know. Having the touch screen makes getting used to windows 8 even easier and i am loving that i chose this product to be my first experiences with Windows 8. The battery life is great and for a laptop this size it is light and i love having a keyboard with a numpad makes calculations easier as well as typing in number for things like telephone. it has wonderful sound for such a laptop and the hard drive is plenty big which is one of the reasons why i got it. that and in my opinion 5 hours is a wonderful battery life and while i was watching Netflix i was surprised how clear the picture was compared to other laptops i have been on it is like my screen is a small HDTV i love it.

Great deal and great laptop.

The service was great. Arrived way quicker than they said it would. The laptop is everything I thought it would be and more. Windows 8 is a bit hard to navigate but I will figure it out in time. Best price. I did a lot of shopping.

What a steal

I purchased this laptop to replace an ancient Dell. It seems extremely fast in comparison, and also lighter. Very sleek looking. The touchscreen is fabulous, and being a numbers person, I was pleased with the numberpad. I read reviews that the trackpad was slow, but I don't tend to use it much. When I use it at home, I have it plugged into a hub and have my mouse and keyboard attached, this went flawlessy from the moment of attachment. It also found my printer all on its own (maybe this is normal, but I thought it was cool) The price at Adorama was amazing, and so was their service! The only drawback for me, besides finding that Windows 8 is a poor substitute for a Mac (it is just NOT intuitive) is that I hate that it takes two hands to open the laptop, my old Dell had a latch and when you released it it popped open, the Asus stays shut w/o a latch and you kind of have to pry it open.

Get it!

The computer is performing superbly and I even think learning Windows 8 is no problem. The only trouble I'm having with it is getting it to work with my Brother MFC. I still haven't been able to get it to print though it seemed to add the printer okay.
