WORKS JUST FINE w/my Mac mini on Mac OS 14.1.1
Having had to return an LG external BR because it wouldn't work w/my Mac mini, I thought that I'd give this Asus a try. Woohoo! It works! Yes, this model doesn't do BR, but it works! Thanks Asus for keeping the Mac user in mind, and enabling this to work with Apple Silicon. Woohoo!
Convenient
I purchased this external optical drive because my case doesnt have a spot for an optical drive. Its super great to use to watch movies with and its so light and thin. I really like how simple it is to hook up and operate. Just plug in the provided usb cable and the drive powers on then just press the button to open it and push the drawer back in to close it.
