Shopper : upgrade operating system?PHIVAN D : Not recommend to buy this Asus tablet, too slow and could not upgrade since 2012. Say no to Asus forever.MATTHEW B : It really depends on what u want to use the tablet for, the reason I say that is because it has USB ports so if u run out of space u could use a thumb drive to have more space, but as far as upgrading the system u can if u choose to but I have found that it is very fast and has plenty of space as far as tablets go, and operates very well, I hope this was helpful
Lori P : I'm interested in purchasing the Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T 10.1 and I'd like to know which keyboard I can purchase for it. Also which sd card would I need? ThanksDON H : I have had this tablet (TF700T), and the matching key (TF700 Mobile Dock), for over a year now. The keyboard has a standard USB port and a full-sized SD card slot. I understand, but have not confirmed, that it can handle a 64GB SD card. I am not happy with either the tablet or the mobile dock. My tablet is extremely slow much of the time--so slow, that I often set it aside and work from my phone (Galaxy S5), which is considerably faster and more reliable. (Antutu benchmark score on my tablet is 17,899; on my S5 it's 41,879.) Rebooting and cold-booting the tablet does not fix the problems. I've done a factory reset, losing all my programs and data. It seemed to help for a while, but not for long. Second, on the tablet, ASUS has never updated the operating system. It's still running Android 4.2.1. I think a flagship model should be kept near current on the Android system. W/r to the keyboard, these tend to lose the rubber pads on the bottom of the keyboard very easily. I contacted ASUS about this and they said that they could not send me replacements but I could return the keyboard for a fix. This didn't make sense to me so I just lived with the problem for a while. Then a key broke and I sent the keyboard back to replace that and the rubber feet. The rubber feet lasted a few weeks before some of them came off. Without them, the keyboard slips easily on any smooth surface. I'll probably buy some rubber, cut out new pads and stick them on with a strong adhesive. But really, I shouldn't have to do that. The keyboard is very light and the tablet tends to be tippy. You need to keep the heels of your hands on the keyboard to avoid having it tip over. The keyboard is also small and key travel is very short. These are unavoidable compromises, I guess, for the small size of the tablet. However, my wife's Surface has better key travel and feels more natural to type on than the ASUS. All in all, I'm not happy with my tablet or the keyboard.JAMES D : You can use the recomended keyboard or the one for the older unit. the keyboard had a standard SD slot and the tablet itself has a slot for a Micro SD card. the tablet can accept cards up to 64gig. I would stick with a good name card such as Sandisk. I know they work because thats whats in mine. Its a great tablet and Adorama's price is good so go for it.WILLIAM L D : The standard full size SD memory card fits the Asus TF700T. I bought the Asus keyboard for the TF700T
Shopper : can I charge this thing on 220 V power?JAMES W : Yes. You just need a plug adapter but I have had no problems or need for a transformer. JAMES C : Yes you can. The charger is auto-voltage so it is compatible with 110v or 220v. BULENT O : Yes you can charge on 220V power with 220v european plug converter.MICHAEL S : Yes can charge on 220VJ J D : Yes, we live half of our time in Europe and although you will require an adaptor so you can plug it in, the charger works fine on 220 or 110.WILLIAM L D : Sorry I don't have an answer to your question. STEVE O : Yes. The input voltage on the supplied power supply/charger is 100-240v. As long as you have the correct plug converter, you don't need a voltage converter.TIM N : The first and probably best answer is no. You would need a step down transformer to step the 240/208VAC down to 120VAC. You would have to convert 240/208 Plug to 120 Plug. It is not worth the trouble. If you are looking to use it overseas, (Vacation, etc) the problem there is the fact that most of Europe's power is 50 Htz while the USA power runs at 60 cycles per second. This is somewhat ok for lighting loads but not electronic. They have other inherent problems with electronics.JESAMINE M : Hello, I charged mine in Europe (usually 220-240) using a regular adapter with no problems. jes

Sketchy operation

Recieved this device couple weeks ago. Was going to use for Coaches Eye so I can analyze my athletes. It had to be upgraded to 4.2.1 Jelly Bean first. The upgrade did no happen automatically, I had to do a couple reboots to get it to find the ROM downloaded from ASUS. ALL applications crashed on original ROM (4.0.3), ALL applications crash after upgrade to JB 4.2.1. As for coaches eye it continuously stops in the middle of trying to video tape and athlete. I do like the device, and use would use it everyday, if it would operate correctly. After researching on the internet, it would appear that ASUS had a batch of disfunctional devices. Many claim they returned theirs for replacement and the replacement is working great. Something about CPU issues. If, I get it replaced I will repost how it goes. If I dont get it replace it will go in the garbage. It was purchased as an experiment. I buy a lot of ASUS products, but this one is not good, out of the box. Let's see what ASUS does for me. I am new to andriod, but I am long time linux admin. So, pretty easy to navigate all the forum data.

Failed after 3 weeks

It was great while it worked. After 3 weeks, it would suddenly turn itself off in the middle of using it. Then it wouldn't turn on. When it finally turned on, it cycled thru shut down and restart for 2 1/2 hours, then it ran out of power. After that it wouldn't hold a charge. It wouldn't stay on long enough to remove my info before I returned it.

Not the newest but still very capable

I purchased this tablet for my wife who's addicted to facebook and online games with her friends. It replaces a tablet she's had for a couple years that won't hold a charge. The display is very nice. The speed on our wifi net is better than the older tablet. Lots of storage with 32 gig of internal memory plus SD card. It suits her perfectly. She still has occasional issues with Android but I think it is more her understanding than the system. And, a great price.

TF700T is not reliable

I bought it in sep 2012. The reason I selected this model inspite of the very hight price tag was that it has a slot for external SD card and HD screen. Also it is relatively thin and light. Supposed to be fun to use. I have it for about two years now. First time it was OK. Then it started to reboot randomly without any reason for about a time or two in a week. Also it was lagging randomly so that it can freeze for about a minute then unfreeze even on light tasks like editing text in idle mode (no heavy background applications running). Couple of days ago it had entered a boot loop mode and basically turned into a brick. All it does is loads and resets without ever showing Android screen. After some research on the internet I found that many of these devices suffer from the same defect. Would not recommend to buy for anybody.

Asus Transformer Pad

I use this pad almost as a laptop, to work at home. It is so much easier than a laptop though - lighter and with better battery life. I also purchased the keyboard, and I would not suggest trying to use it for this purpose without the keyboard. With the keyboard, it is a truly elegant device. I love it. The word processing software that is loaded with it is not great - it does not for example enable you to redline a document - but there are some great apps, some of which are free, that you can download. Also, the keyboard is a smidge smaller than a traditional keyboard, so for someone with big hands, it might not really work well as a regular word processing device. But I am very happy with it. All in all, I really love this thing, and think it will be much more useful than a laptop would have been, at a fraction of the cost.

The ASUS Infinity is Great

I use the TR700 for mail, books, The Bible, games, look at my photos in raw, go on the internet. The fact that you can add more memory on the tablet and the keyboard is great. The battery life is good and with the keyboard it is up to 14 hours. The cons, this is easy. Jelly Bean is horrible, ASUS is bad on this one. They should fix it. I would recommend it to you, but do not upgrade it OS to Jelly Bean, keep it on Ice Cream Sandwich.

Good Android Tablet

Easy to set up and add all my current apps and search and add new ones. Performance is good except for the camera which I found to take very poor quality photos. This is fine for me as I use my phone for photos but may be an issue for others.

Just what I was looking for..versatility

This is my first tablet. It has the plugin's I wanted that were lacking with the I-Pad. The display is super sharp. Never used Android based system, so there was a learning curve. No big deal if your half way tech savvy. Worked great right out of the box, just did some upgrades to the operating system and I was good to go. Got the keyboard too. They work well together with great battery life. Bought a cover that works with the pad or the keyboard attached. So far it's more than I expected and integrates well with my other computers, even though there all windows based. Wi-Fi works really good on my home network. Like I said before the display has amazing clarity and really nice camera. Another high tech toy I'm having a lot of fun with.

asus is fast , but....

The apps dont take advantage of the screen resolution. Its makes it look a little too zoomed in. I like the sturdiness of the unit but the screen goes all the way to the edge making worry about any side impacts. The tf101 had a metal bezel for protection. This one does not. Like the frequent updates as well to keep it snappy.

TF700T Slow and Unreliable

I purchased the TF700T in Dec and have been disappointed. It is laggy under Ice Cream Sandwich. After Jelly Bean update, it was a little snappier, but frequently crashes and reboots when watching youtube or locally stored videos for 10-30 minutes, and browsing with Chrome while listening to Pandora for 10-30 minutes. I tried multiple factory resets and cold boots, but crashing still occurs. Just RMA'd it to ASUS. Both my Samsung Galaxy S3 (T999) and Tab 7 Plus work way better on ICS and JB.

Excellent, better than ipad for the mone

Excellent piece of kit. Expensive but value for money. The use of a USB and attachable keyboard make this more useful than an ipad. Only downside is syncing itunes over. I would highly recommend this product for those wanting a high end tablet.

It's all that they say it is

The touch screen is amazing. It is touch sensitive, very pleasant to use. Once you set up the account for downloading apps, It's a breeze. This is an high quality unit and can't be compared to a low end unit.

Love it, love it, love it

I use this just as I use my laptop. I purchased this for when I travel. So much more convenient. I also invested in a sturdy leather cover. Perfect..it matches my Kindle. My son, a businessman, recommended this, and I certainly would recommend to others.

The battery is not better than ipad. But you can put a sd card memory and we can work on our files easily. With keyboard it is good. The signal for wifi signal reception is not better than ipad.

An excellent investment

There are a lot of pros to this product, and very few cons on the whole. I personally use this tablet just about every day, but I bought it for a very particular purpose. I use this tablet to store character sheets and rulebooks for tabletop gaming sessions. It's pretty much the ultimate accessory for a DM or just a player. I also use it for reading on days when I'm not gaming, and it works wonderfully for that as well. Best features of this tablet: Battery Life - I can often use it for days between recharges, even with hours of use per day Screen Quality - the colors are bright and pictures/text are sharp. Also, gorilla glass is hard to beat! 3 Performance modes - very handy, and not super common among other (non-Asus) tablets that I know of Brightness options - from DIM to SUPER BRIGHT, and the adjustments are very easy to make Dock - not part of this package, but the dock accessory is pretty much invaluable to me. It works flawlessly, protects the screen when closed, adds USB, and both saves/adds battery life. A definite plus all around MicroSD card slot - allows for up-gradable storage, a major benefit Less awesome (but not major issues) Screen reflectivity - while the brightness is great, there still really isn't a solution in place to make it non-reflective. However, I knew this going into the purchase, and the screen gets so bright that it's more than usable anyway. Just be aware, There Will Be Glare. Especially with the accumulation of fingerprints Speakers - the audio quality is generally great, but sometimes volume is not. There is just a point where you can't squeeze anymore loudness out of a tablet speaker. The audio out options could solve this for you should it be an issue Overall, this is an excellent product with many wonderful features, and it has suited my needs perfectly.

Decent Tablet

I bought this tablet because I liked the idea of having the keyboard with it. I was using my old Galaxy Tab 7" tablet before and I loved having the big screen for email, etc. but hated actually sending long messages on it. I thought this would be the best of both worlds. The keyboard is very nice when doing a lot of typing but I find that I try to use it like a laptop when the keyboard is attached and then I notice how slow it is compared to my full on laptop. I also bought the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 as a phone and find that I use the phone much more than I do the tablet. Both have the same version of Android. Had I owned the phone first, I probably wouldn't have bought the tablet, but the larger screen is definitely nice for sharing photos or watching videos. So it has its purposes.

Terrific Tablet

This is a great tablet. I looked closely at quite a few, narrowed it down to a the Transformer Infinity, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, and the Nexus 10. I selected the Asus Transformer Infinity for its ability to dock with a keyboard and the extra productivity (and battery life) that allows and the presence of SD slots.

Great hardware - but Android is limited!

Sleek and usable with the keyboard/dock. Many great apps, BUT!!! Android (Jelly Bean) GoogleDrive app and browsers (mini/mobile) just don't cut it for using Google's own cloud services. Very limited capability. If you wouldn't want to do it on your smart phone, don't expect it to be any better on an android tablet. OBTW: Adorama's "No Hassle Return Policy" means if you unwrap it don't bother trying to return it! Read their Return Policy completely, be warned.

Sweet!

Ive seen some mixed reviews, but i was pleasantly surprised at the build of this unit. I am converting from Ipad 2. So I am going from very restrictive use to freedom! With storage too! The only thing bad i have to say about it is it can get a little confusing which apps are for hd tablet, which are for phone. More and more developers are producing apps for android and more and more are HD. Ill never go back to an Apple product again :)
