The case's fit is nearly perfect, and it doesn't add a lot of weight. The case doesn't take away the looks of the tablet at all, keeping the Nexus logo on the back. The texture on the back of the cover is very much like that of the tablet. The lack of open-to-wake is very unfortunate. The cover provides protection against bumps and scratches, but since it's not hard, it won't take big hits. Instead of having openings around the power/volume buttons, the design opted to cover them. It's too tight, though, so the buttons become harder to press, and sometimes the cover will end up accidentally holding down the power button and force restart the tablet. At retail price, there are plenty of other options that were more functional and afforable. If you're looking for a bit of light and good-looking protection, this case will do well.

It does the job of protecting the tablet but if you need a case that will hold it up for viewing videos, look elsewhere.

The case looks nice, and the texture covering the outside matches the texture on the back of the Nexus itself. It does a pretty good job of protecting the Nexus. There are however a few sharp edges where the plastic of the case should be rounded and instead has that tiny, sharp ridge where two halves of a mold came together. The front cover is quite bendy, and there is no kind of magnet or latch to keep it closed. The case also doesn't take advantage of the wake/sleep magnet control of the Nexus. Overall, I would recommend looking for one of the black folio cases with the rigid, padded clasp that hold them closed and the ability to prop the Nexus up at various viewing angles.

Cover is lightweight but provides great protection. I use my Nexus in the kitchen a lot for viewing recipes while cooking. This cover keeps it protected while in use and while charging the tablet. Provides a better grip when reading ebooks. Also fits easily into my other carry case.
