I have had both of these decks for the past five years (2019), and they are still going strong. Quite the investment.

I did quite a bit of research on turntables. I was considering the Pioneer DJ PLX-1000. I just wanted a turntable for home use, to use with my (2) 120W mono amplifiers configured for stereo. I am using a DeLisle V2 Speaker switch box, having one amplifier driving one speaker and the other amplifier driving the remaining speaker. I am using one of my Android phones to drive each amplifier, one with right audio and one with left audio. I received the turntable within a couple days. It was double boxed. The packaging is incredible. There's lots of styrofoam packing material to secure the turntable in the box and and everything is secured with tape. I was initially concerned that the top cover might be cracked but it wasn't. Everything arrived in perfect condition. Set-up is very easy. Instructions are included in the manual as well as videos online to make set-up very easy. Set-up includes mounting the platter, platter cover, cartridge & stylus (included), counter weight, balancing the tone arm, setting the tracking force and anti-skating force. I had it all set-up within 15 minutes. What I really like about this turntable is that it has all of the features of the Pioneer PLX-1000 plus additional features that the PLX doesn't have. 1, Dual Start/Stop Buttons 2. Start Control Speed 3. Brake Control Speed 4. Reverse Direction 5. 33/45 & 78 Speeds (78 not included on the PLX-1000) 6. Cartridge & Stylus Included (Not included in the PLX-1000) 7. Line/Phono switch (PLX-1000 is phono only) 8. USB output to play & record records into digital format (Not capable on the PLX-1000) This is a direct drive turntable. Included is a right angle stereo phono cord, line power cord, USB cord and manual. The Audio-Technica AT-1240-USBXP is around $100 cheaper than the PLX-1000. I highly recommend this turntable. It comes with a AT-XP5 DJ cartridge. You can always change it to another brand of cartridge. The cover is not hinged. This is a manual turntable & no auto return.

My original purchase was back in March of 2020. I liked the it so much, that I bought an additional unit in July, 2020. Even thought I am a far cry from being a DJ, I enjoy tinkering with the vast array of features that this model offers. The fact that I am able to adjust the tonearm's balance and anti-skate. I have read many reviews where people purchasing vinyl and are experiencing skipping issues. Guess what, not with this turntable. I use the back and forward feature when pinpointing a particular area of a record that is creating a distracting pop in the audio. I utilize the pitch control so I do not cause damage to the stylus. The ability to control the platter's motion with the Stop and Start dials is a very practical feature. You are in control. I would highly recommend the AT_LP1240USB XP Edition. It's heavy, solid, and built with the audiophile in mind. Which I might add, I am gradually turning into.

Got back in to vinyl just under 2 yrs ago. I bought this TT and never looked back. After about a month I upgraded my system as well as the stylus for an Ortophon 2M Blue. The music that comes of of this thing is pristine to my ears. I listen to this TT almost everyday and its been a godsend during the pandemic. I love the features and the only thing that I would improve is that I would add an automatic arm return. Enjoy...

After 35 years, my Denon DP52-F finally developed a cueing error, and I decided to replace it rather than repair it. Because I have an Audio-Technica AT150MLX cartridge that I really like, I decided to go with an AT 'table. I first got the AT-LP5. Nicely designed, but just not up to the audio quality of the DP-52F. I then bought the AT-LP1240-USB, and it's a keeper. There is much that I will never use: the built-in phono preamp, the USB functionality, and all of the DJ buttons. Even so, the build quality is quite good, I like the RCA jacks for the interconnects (although apparently that is quite common these days), I can't tell an audio difference between it and the DP-52F, and it looks good in my rack. It works well with the AT150MLX. Well, it does after this quirk: the first day I had the 1240, it had a terrible hum, especially in the right channel. I thought yet another turntable would be in my future. As I tried different options to determine the source of the hum, I inserted the headshell/cartridge from the AT-LP5 that I still had. Hum gone! I reinstalled the AT150MLX and its headshell, and very slightly loosened the mounting screws. The hum disappeared and hasn't returned! A hinged dust cover would have been nice.

Started putting my old Lps on my laptop. I needed a new turntable with USB. I decided to upgrade to AT-1240-USB pro model, glad I did.

This turntable has served me well for almost two years. I use it almost everyday to record my vinyl collection of several thousand records. What is most remarkable to me is how quiet it runs. With the ground connected to my external phono preamp, I get virtually no audible noise whatsoever. My recordings are crisp and clear. I am using an AT440Mlb cartridge which makes a huge difference. I did find out early on that the internal phono preamp would not deliver the sound I needed which was a disappointment and made me think I had made a mistake with this purchase. But after almost daily use I have no regrets as the performance has been consistently excellent.

Wish there was a hinged cover option so Audiophiles can close the cover while playing . Quality throughout . Thing weighs more than you would expect it too by just looking at it . Put a nice cartridge /stylus on and experience the quality of this turntable . I use the AT-vm540ml and its as good if not better than the Ortofon 2M Blue MM . YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER TURNTABLE FOR THE MONEY .
