The AT4040 microphone is designed with a large diaphragm for capturing natural, full-bodied sound. It also features a cardioid polar pattern that minimizes off-axis signals, reducing ambient and residual noise for pristine recordings. With a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz and 100 ohms impedance, it offers reliable and versatile performance.
The integral 80 Hz high-pass filter allows for easy switching from a flat frequency response to a low-end roll-off. This provides flexibility based on your recording needs. The high-pass position not only reduces the microphone's sensitivity to popping in close vocal use but also diminishes the pickup of low-frequency ambient noise like traffic, air-handling systems, and mechanically-coupled vibrations.
Yes, the Audio-Technica AT4040 microphone is not only ideal for studio recording but also for live performances and other professional audio capture needs due to its high sound quality and reliability.
The AT4040 microphone is versatile and can capture a wide range of sound sources. It's ideal for vocals and a variety of instruments, including pianos, guitars, and string instruments.

You need a connector to plug it into a PC, but the audio quality is amazing and this is a great bundle.

Great sound quality and dynamic range. Build quality is amazing and overall performance sounds almost identical to mics twice the price.

Everything works well. The pop filter is a little lacking in build quality but does the job just fine with its two layers of mesh. The head phones work well enough, but would I recommend upgrading as soon as possible.
