AT 4081 Has become my reliable travel mate
I have been playing all my gigs as a jazz soloist with this microphone during the past 4 years already (my instrument is trumpet.) It has never let me down in any situation. The only factor to consider is when playing outside, you really need the provided wind shield.
Where a robust ribbon mic isn't an oxymoron.
I have been using these on live stages for everything from horns to guitars to acoustic instruments and they sound great. At first I was really nervous using a ribbon mic on a live stage but I have seen them take a full stand height fall onto concrete and be fine. The over-excursion system really works.
