With the introduction of the HAE18C Strain Wave Altazimuth/Equatorial Mount, iOptron expands its renowned strain wave gear mount family, offering an ultra-portable and versatile solution for astronomy enthusiasts. This innovative dual mount is designed to deliver an exceptional stargazing experience, combining lightweight construction with impressive payload capacity. Weighing just 6 lbs, the HAE18C can support a payload of up to 19 lbs, eliminating the need for cumbersome counterweights or shafts.
Leveraging iOptron's extensive expertise in precision mount engineering, the HAE18C utilizes cutting-edge strain wave gear technology for both Right Ascension (RA) and Declination (DEC) movements. This advanced technology ensures superior weight-to-payload efficiency, making it an ideal choice for astronomers seeking high performance in a compact form. The mount's sleek black anodized metal CNC-machined body not only enhances its aesthetic appeal but also provides a durable and reliable platform for long-term use.
The HAE18C is equipped with unique features such as an electronic friction brake, ensuring safe and secure stopping of the mount. It offers versatile control options, allowing users to operate it via a computer using ASCOM/Commander for Windows or a third-party INDI driver for MacOS. Additionally, it can be controlled through a Smartphone or Tablet using iOptron Commander Lite or apps like SkySafari Pro, and even through a Raspberry Pi device via INDI driver. The "C" models, featuring an internal main board with built-in Wi-Fi, enable external control without the need for a handset. For those who prefer traditional control, the optional 8411 Go2Nova controller is available.
Enhancing convenience, the mount includes on-saddle USB and 12V ports for streamlined cable management. To ensure safe transport and storage, a high-quality form-fit hard case is included. The HAE18C Strain Wave Altazimuth/Equatorial Mount is a testament to iOptron's commitment to innovation and quality, offering a robust and efficient solution for both amateur and professional astronomers.
