Excellent purchase. I'd been using odd bits of metal added to the 9.5kg and 5kg counterweights I already had to balance my 10" SCT scope on a CEM70. Finally got around to looking for another 5kg weight. I found Adorama had this item at cheaper price than I could find anywhere else. I bought it, received promptly and have been using it ever since. The 5kg I bought, and other iOptron counterweights are black, which I think looks better than white. These counterweights have a hex head screw in the center of the knob on them.. 8 or 9mm? They can be cranked down good with with a hex key wrench.

The iOptron 5kg counterweights were purchased to replace a set that originally shipped with the IEQ45 mount. These are identical, except for color. These are black, not cream, as pictured. They are secured to the counterweight shaft with a compression ring, which is a nice touch, as it doesn't mar the chrome plating on the shaft as a set-screw would. Two weights will just barely counterbalance my 8" fiberglass tube Cave Astrola, its telrad and digital camera (19.3 lbs). If I add more equipment, I will need to purchase the counterweight extension shaft. This will allow these two weights to fully counterbalance the maximum rated load for the IEQ45 mount.
