Chris J : Does this have a magnetic base?JOHN S : Chris: No, the riser does not have a magnetic base. It's attached to the same base that comes with the Telrad, and then the Telrad is attached to the riser. JohnDAENA S : No, it has an adhesive strip that you use. VICTORIA S : nope, it tapes on with double stick tape RYAN B : No, It attaches by double sided foam tape. It is lightweight though so the tape holds it very secure.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?GLENN D : I finally figured out why my neck mildly aches after viewing for several hours. The Telrad is on the Dob mounting plate secondary assembly and was hard to see the reticle without putting my face right against the truss tubes and an odd angle. A 2" extension was all I needed to fix this for a 10" f/6 scope. For people with larger scopes the 4" is a better choice. For smaller scopes the 4" goes too far the other way. 2" was just right.Guillermo M : Personal preference

Great and inexpensive tool to aid in your viewing

One of the hardest things about using a telescope is having to contort your body to look through the finder to locate your object. This riser for the Telrad finder is an excellent addition to lessen the pain of trying to locate and zero in on your object to view. It is a joy to use. I have a number of them because I have a lot of telescopes. Highly recommended an easy to use.

Good if you need to raise the Telrad

I purchased this in case I needed it, but haven't used it because I was able to attach the Telrad onto my finder scope. I may use it eventually, or perhaps on another scope. It should work nicely if you don't have any other options.
