If you own a dobsonian telescope, a Telrad finder is a must have purchase. Once you use the telrad, you notice how uncomfortable it is to bend down, to look through the Telrad.
   With the 4" riser, you will no longer have to bend down. It makes star hopping, and star alignment a breeze. No more aching back. This riser should be included, with the Telrad. 
   This is really a no brainer purchase. Save your back, and just purchase one. You will not regret your purchase.

A NO BRAINER PURCHASE

With a dobsonian this is needed to get enough separation from the tube to avoid the need to be a contortionist to get a good view through the Telrad when viewing anywhere near the zenith.  Adorama has a better price on this than most other places, but still docked a star since this is a high priced piece of plastic.

Essential addition to Telrad

The riser is definitely worthwhile. I have several accessories attached to a C925 so real estate is at a premium, and sighting along the OTA obstructed. Attaching the telrad atop the riser allows me to have a clear view of the sky without contorting too much. The rizer is stable and basically just makes the telrad further from the OTA.

The riser is definitely worthwhile

As with all of my other Telrad products this one is also of fine quality and easy to install. It enables me to use my Telrad finder in addition to my scope finder without straining and without knocking my head or eye into my scope finder by elevating the Telrad 4" from the OTA. The Riser Base is easily detachable and attachable and also the Telrad is easily detachable from the Riser so I can easily remove my Telrad and use it on another telescope. The Riser seems very sturdy and should serve me well for many years.
