The Telrad is great! I probably should have ordered the 4 inch riser instead of the 2 inch. For backyard viewing I am now putting the XT8 on a small table.

It's a simple design. Looks straight forward to install and use. Can't wait to try it out, once the clouds go away.

The packaging was good and the telrad was well protected. The Telrad takes 2 AA batteries (which are not included). The base is too big for my Explore Scientific 10" hybrid truss tube DOB. So haven't been able to use it right away.

Already have one, but needed another for the second scope.

Love this thing. So much quicker than a finder scope. I still use both, but this gets me very close. It does make the scope bigger and my cover wouldn't fit any more so had to order a bigger cover. Worth it.

This is a great product. As a beginner the original RACI mount that came with my scope was frustrating to use. The Telrad literally is point, aim and there it is!

My scope wouldn't be complete without the telrad - it makes the entire experience so much easier and fun! The outdated "look" doesn't trouble me in the least.

Add the optional Meade mount and you’re set. Works great, straight forward, simple to use. Only negative would be its look is outdated.

Have used one before, but my old one apparently had the LED go bad and is not easily replaceable, so ordered new which appears fine. Design should make replacement of components easier.

The BEST finder you can get for a telescope, simple design and reliable. Just make sure you use good batteries in it in colder weather.

This is a fantastic finder sight. Just stick it on and match up finder points. This is a must for any star hopper!

Great for spot light operations. Tape the mount to the side of the lighting unit, dial it in, be on target every cue.

It's quite good at what it does. Nice dimmer which good low-end intensity. Feels pretty cheap - but I haven't had any problems with it.

Mounting was quick and easy, alignment was a snap. The reticle dimmer works quite well but rate of dimming is very steep, maybe they can smooth it out with the next build.

I just love the Telrad except for one small very known this. The glass will dew over every single night. You just need a dew heater, and you will not have any problems from then on.

When I first came across these, I really wondered how they would be better than a typical finder. After using it for awhile on my reflector, I pulled out my refractor, tried using the regular finderscope (which was actually of very good quality) and immediately ordered another Telrad to replace it. I love these things. They just work!

I built a 6 inch telescope a few years ago and only had a Telrad for its spotter scope and never needed any thing else. A year ago I purchased a 10 inch telescope and it came with a spotter, but it is difficult to determine which start I'm looking at, I used the telescope maybe 5 or 6 time in the year I've owned it. And that's because I didn't have a Telrad on the scope. So I ordered myself a Telrad and I expect that I will be using my 10 inch much more now.

Telrad works very well to initially locate 3 stars to allow the auto alignment of the GOTO telescope. I do use the celestron 9x50 finderscope as a second step before I set the autoalignment software. The instruction with the Telrad does not say if the astronomer should use one or both eyes to sight the star with the red bulleye. But I found it ok to just use my dominant eye to do the sighting without closiing the non dominant eye.

This is my second Telrad, and I was lost without it. Easy to use. It really makes star hopping with a classic dobsonian a breeze. Highly recommend for all beginning users, and I'll never be without one again on my scopes.

I bought this new one to replace an old one whose battery connections went bad. This new one also is useful.

Now I can spend more time looking and photographimg instead of looking FOR the planets and stars. This is a valuable tool.

After twenty years (I bought it in 1989) the potentiometer finally went, but it should be a cheap fix and I can get by with bypassing it for now. It's a really great finder, allowing you to see your field of view within the context of the sky as opposed to through a small scope. I wouldn't want to use anything else and will certainly replace mine if it ever does go for good.
Worth it's weight in gold!

The Telrad Finder Sight is so easy to use and makes sighting in on celestial objects quick and easy. I have yet to find any detracters. It's more than worth the price.
Before you venture into the night sky with your telescope, consider enhancing your stargazing experience with our Finder Sight Red/Green Switchable with Mounting Base. This innovative device simplifies the process of aiming your telescope, making it a breeze even for beginners.
Unlike traditional finderscopes, the view through our Finder Sight's window seamlessly blends with the surrounding sky, providing a natural, non-magnified, and upright image. The device features three illuminated rings that appear to float among the stars, guiding you to your celestial target. The smallest ring outlines an area equivalent to the moon's size as seen through your telescope, while the larger outer ring represents the field of view of a standard finderscope.
To use, simply look through the Finder Sight and adjust your telescope until the rings center on your desired object. This intuitive design eliminates guesswork, allowing you to quickly and accurately align your telescope.
The Finder Sight is lightweight, weighing just 11 ounces, and measures 8 inches in length. It's designed to mount on any telescope without the need for drilling holes, ensuring a secure fit and easy installation. For convenience, it can be detached from its base for separate storage.
One of the standout features of this Finder Sight is its Red/Green switchable LED light. This two-color option offers you the flexibility to choose between a red or green image, enhancing contrast against various viewing backgrounds. This switchable feature requires no additional settings adjustments, allowing you to effortlessly toggle between red and green during your viewing sessions. Please note that the device requires 2 AA batteries, which are not included.
Incorporate our Finder Sight Red/Green Switchable with Mounting Base into your stargazing routine for a more streamlined, enjoyable experience.
