Highly recommend this sturdy and simple shredder! I use it for art projects, but also could shred private documents that I don?t want to throw in the trash/recycle. I like that it can rest on the rim of any small bin!

Even when extended, it is too short for my garbage can so had to change can. It also doesn?t shred as many pages as it says it can. A little disappointed

I have used this product before. Not good for large shredding of 30 to 40 sheets at one time but great for daily shedding of mail & etc. It will get hot after 10 or 20 minutes of constant shredding, & will cut off automatically.

The Aurora Shredder is a simple shredder designed for light duty paper shredding. I found that 3 or 4 sheets of paper is the max it will handle at once. The unit plugs into a normal 110 VAC outlet slips over any container 12 to 15 inches in diameter, mine is 13 inches in diameter. Noise levels are normal when shredding. Unit has been very dependable so far. Do not force the unit to shred more than 4 sheets of paper at a time, it will probably jam and stop. It does have a reversible running switch but if it jams I would venture to say that you may need a pair of needle nose pliers to remove the jam.

have not given it much use yet, but seem to work real well and i am happy with it. it does a real good job shedding and that is what i was looking for. i thing it will hold up well but only more use will tell. i have no complaints with it.

I gave this piece of office equipment a four only because it does get hot and shuts off after any prolonged shredding. Other than that, it's a great little shredder. It took multiple sheets with staples and shredded plastic credit cards and thin cardboard. My granddaughter shredded all of the outdated papers in my file drawers. I can tuck it away on a shelf until my next shredding party. A great buy and exactly what I needed for my home.

I am very happy with the device. I was blown away by the speed of the delivery. Seriously - I ordered it one day and it arrived the next and the shipping was free...! I use it primarily for shredding bank statements and tax info when I get around to disposing of the 8th year of Tax docs. It is just what I wanted. I had one. It had served me well. It died - okay, I may have overfed it... But it had lasted me 12 years. Time for a replacement. I didn't need anything that had a container. I had a container. Highly recommend.

I got this paper shredder very excitedly after our old bin shredder died, 3 years old. I live in a small apartment, so having 1 bin for trash and a removable shredder that I can tuck away makes a lot of sense. The shredder cuts straight shreds instead of criss cross, but it can go much faster than my old shredder so it's a good trade off. It has 3 settings, "off", "auto feed", and "reverse". Off and reverse are obvious, and auto feed will turn the shredder on when paper is fed and turn off 1-2 seconds after it finishes shredding. The auto function worked really well, turning on as soon as the sensor detected paper, ripping through it at a high pace, and turning off immediately. We had a small backup of paper needing shredding, so for the first 10-20 minutes that I got it I went through a few papers, gave it a break, and continued going. After a good pile formed, the shredded paper got up to the level of the shredder and caused the shredder to get backed up, causing it to get jammed easily. I cleared the jam, learned my lesson about emptying the bin, and turned it back on only to find out that the "auto" sensor seems to be broken. Now instead of auto on, I just have "ON all the time", which means that the speedy little motor gets very hot very fast, even with me turning it off every few shreds. Overall, I loved the shredder until it jammed and stopped working as expected. This happened on the first day, so I'm giving it 2 stars. For anyone that does choose this shredder, make sure to clean out your basket frequently to make sure it doesn't get backed up!
