Review Summary

The headset audio quality is top tier, but it cuts out every 10 seconds which makes it unusable. I've tried my best to trouble shoot, manually re pair the headset, use various USB ports and devices, moving it as far as possible from any devices to interfere with it, but it still cuts out constantly.

These are great headphones, they're comfortable, extremely lightweight, good battery life, sound great and decent wireless range. For PC headphones they're missing some features: 1 - no battery life indicator is a big one, I have to guess how much I've used them recently to know if it's time to charge or not. Constantly topping off Li-ION batteries is not good for longevity so I don't like to constantly charge them when they're already decently charged. 2 - No automatic sleep functions, you can probably blame me on this one but I've left them on a few times and come back to a dead battery. Would prefer headphones that sleep/save battery if they detect they're not in use. 3 - This is mostly opinion but charger should have been USB-C given they released only a few years ago. One improvement - the mic mute icon is very tiny and I confused it with just a microphone logo. Took me a few times to realize I was turning on "Mute" and not turning on the "mic". Some larger silk screening would be nice. This was definitely a user error moment but I think a larger icon could alleviate this.

Before getting AT headset I tried many other brands of headsets, NONE compare to this one in how light they feel and how great they sound. Sadly there is one big BUT and that is battery issues and ergonomics. I believe that there is something wrong with headset software where if you leave heatset overnight with PC on headset will destroy the battery somehow to a point where it just does not hold charge. I mananed to find and replace batteries, but that was not ease process. I believe if AT used plastic connectors for battery, not soldering battery to the mainboard and considering user replacable battery this would be hands down the best headset in the market. For now I would recomend using wired version of the same headset, because the big issues with this headset is related it. Some other things is that mic does not stay in place after a while ended up glueing it to the headset, micro USB was on it's way out years ago, and it is not the sturdiest connector unded up using connector with longer metal part, because regular connector is too short to stay in place. The turn on turn off sounds could be not as high pitched, same with mute unmute, would prefer something more modern, lower pitch. I believe there is a better way to place buttons and make them have more feedback, make turn on and mute buttons feel diffrent. I would kill for - ATH-G2WL updated version with USB-C, great software, battery protection, better button ergonomics, better mic connector and battery that is easier to replace (better yet user replacable) I believe AT is capable of that, but for now go buy wired version of this.

My experience with this device began positive. Great audio and a fantastic microphone for a wireless headset. The product looks great and feels great. The only initial complaint was the micro-USB connection was fiddly to deal with. Over time the micro-USB connector becomes loose and won't stay in anymore. On top of this the faux leather components degrade and apart from the ear pads, are not replaceable. The real killer for this product is the headset battery that loses its ability to hold charge very quickly and it cannot be replaced. Neither can the faux leather headrest pad at the top of the headset which falls apart to expose the underlying foam pad. Do no expect more than 12-18 months out of this product. A huge disappointment for me having always thought a lot about Audio Technica. I do not recommend this product.

These headphones are great. I use them for both work and play. The audio is flawless for games, the microphone is perfectly adequate for voice chat, and they can last a full 10-14 hours. When they work right, I can walk clear across the house and still maintain a steady connection. However, they disconnect frequently when plugged into my computers front I/O USB ports, which is about 3 or 4 feet from my head. When I reached out to support, they specifically told me that USB 3.0 interferes with the connection, and recommended plugging it into a USB 2.0 port or using a USB 2.0 extension cable. This fixed the issue, however I find it quite odd that as new of a product as this is that is is not compatible with USB 3.0. This was a gift, but for the price the giver paid, they should work out of the box on a (now) standard USB port.

The headset itself was amazing and the sound was off the charts great. The problem was the quality of the construction was cheap plastic, it kept disconnecting constantly and the battery was a joke. 7 Hours of charge time is not even funny as a joke, then coupled with an insanely short use time. But the absolute worst thing is the inability for it to stay connected to my computer. No matter what I did or where I placed it, it could not hold a solid connection. After a week of this I just returned it for a refund. Can NOT recommend to anyone for anything until AT gets this disconnection problem fixed.

The sound was great, and the mic worked well which I wasn't expecting. However, after 6 months their battery won't hold a charge. Even after charging them for a full day I put them on and constantly get the low battery beeping.

I don't like to review and Item too soon and these headphones are a good reason why. They have good sound quality. I love the light comfortable fit, I was please with the surround sound immersion that these headphones provided. The charging port is the micro usb and it does not hold up. I now have a useless pair of headphones, I tried different cable in case my cable was bad, it wasn't it was the connector at the headset. I started having the issue after about 9 months after purchase. I would recommend purchasing the wired version if you absolutely wanted Audio Technica. I have used a lot of Audio Technica products and was suprised to have something like this happen with one of their products.

I splurged on a new headset for my birthday and they were great for as long as they worked. Not even a month later and the headphone's wireless signal distance is cut in half. Instead of being able to make food and listen to my computer, I'm restricted to my room. Fair enough. Come now 3 months since purchase and now these headphones are disconnecting when my arm blocks the path to my computer 6 inches away. They disconnect constantly even when right next to the sensor. They are unreliable and not worth a fifth of the asking price because of it. I've called customer support about this thrice now and have been asked to leave a message instead of someone answering and it's been 3 consecutive weeks and still no phone call back. They're great when they work though.

Was really happy with my third A-T headset, little too isolated for my preference even for gaming use. Sadly, the battery durability and lack of USB-C type 2 connector are major let-downs on such an expensive set of cans. This is the last gaming headset I will purchase without USB-C or a user replaceable battery.

I don't typically write reviews of products, but using this headset has become so unbelievably frustrating that I feel inclined to. Pros: - comfortable and compact - decent noise supression - good audio quality Cons: - frequent connectivity issues (comes in sporadic waves, will have around an hour of constant cutting in and out, then back to normal) - microphone quality is subpar so I stopped using it shortly after buying - micro usb port is awful, cables constantly just fall out on their on while charging - the audio design of the hardware sounds is like nails on a chalkboard (low battery sound, microphone on/off sound) seriously it haunts me. It's the most upsetting part of my day when I get the sound telling me that I have to charge this sorry thing. It's loud, it's high pitched, it makes me feel like I'm being punished for something. And GOD FORBID I hear that sound while I'm having connectivity issues. These cons may sound inconsequential, but when it's a product you're using EVERY day the little things make a huge difference. Don't waste your time with these. They'll just infuriate you.

After only a little over a week I am already returning this headset. I had just previously returned Logitech G700's in hopes that these would be better, as the Logitech's were weak wireless headphones. As soon as I started using these, they blew me away, fantastic audio, true to life sounds, fantastic bass, no latency. In other words, everything I wanted. But then, for the last several days to the point I am returning them, came the connectivity issues. I cannot get the headset to stay reliably steady, and I have tried everything to keep the receiver happy. I just cannot get along with how over it disconnects, which will happen for seconds at a time every few minutes. It will go through bouts were it is connately connecting and disconnecting, making carrying a conversation completely impossible, much less playing the games it is designed for when I cannot hear opponents on my flank. I really would use these for absolutely everything if they worked..... I guess it is back to wired headsets for me with the G1's...

This headset broke my heart, twice. They're the best-sounding headphones I've ever heard, and the microphone is the absolute best of the best. The headset is remarkably lightweight and feels luxurious to wear because of the fabric earpads. Wireless connectivity is rock-solid, and there's essentially no lag at all. If that were the whole story, I could confidently say this is the best wireless gaming headset in the world. Unfortunately, there's more... Whenever I remove the boom mic, the left side starts emitting an extremely high-pitched whine that makes me feel like I have tinnitus in just my left ear. It was bad enough that I returned the headset and got a second one to replace it. Unfortunately, the second pair has the exact same problem. Not only that, my second pair, unlike my first pair, has terrible microphone connectivity issues. I have to jiggle the mic a lot just to get it working, and the slightest nudge will make it cut out altogether. I'm returning my second pair too, and I couldn't be sadder about it. If you're reading this, Audio-Technica engineers, please fix the left-channel whine! If you do, you will be sitting on the world's greatest wireless gaming headset, hands down. I will absolutely buy the successor to this model, but the current generation is simply not refined enough. P.S. Not a big deal, but the mic-on-off switch is labeled backwards.

Good product, listening to the music, gaming, internet calls/voice chat at once. No need for additional pairs just for one of those activities + wireless. I do not understand the poor ratings. Maybe worse drivers support in past or so. No problems at all.

Comfortable headset (for me), quality audio. Lay-flat cups make storage easier. Microphone monitor button is a great addition for those (like me) who like open ear headsets. Made a few points for some of the detractors in the reviews: 1: Use the transmitter for the headset, it will eliminate most problems with computer audio. 2: Choose location and try not transmitting through metal objects, shortest distance is best. 3: Consider a USB-C female to USB-micro (male) adaptor for charging. (USB micro is flaky and compact sizes available nowadays) 4: Quality PC audio gets wasted by using simulated surround, it adds to much "noise" through the simulation process.

I had high hopes for this headset with audio technica being such a great company. Unfortunately their product failed me. The headset is very comfortable but thats about the best thing i could say. The audio constantly cuts out, I've tried rearranging my other bluetooth devices, router, even having my phone away from my desk and nothing. Onto the microphone, any movement you make starts to slowly disconnect the mic. It doesn't stay put no matter how carefully I try to place it all the way in it comes off. I had to crazy glue the mic for it to stop slipping off. For the money its not worth it.

First off, I love this headset. The sound quality is amazing, incredibly lightweight, and the mic is fantastic. However, I cannot recommend this headset because of the intermittent connectivity issues. Every other day the headset will get in this "bad state" where it will disconnect and reconnect every .1 to .2 seconds, for sometimes full seconds at a time. It is unbearable, and I am unable to mix tracks when this occurs. I bought this as a work from home headset but I have to return it because of these issues. I tried to contact support but never received a response (my guess is swamped by covid?). I want to love this headset. Everything about it is amazing, but because of this connection issue I just cannot recommend it. If it would just work, I would recommend this above all other top brands. I own a pair of wireless SteelSeries / Sennheisers / Logitech, and this is by far the best, when it works. No other headset has this issue with my PC.

the last review that gave this headset a 1 is an idiot as they do not understand how wireless headsets have to work. their currently is not a Better WIRELESS option for a gaming headset which as good of noise detection and mic quality. I have personally tested multiple high end WIRELESS headsets. including adding a separated boom mic to high end audio headsets. the issue is those headsets dont connect with PC's with a high frequency to have a quick refresh rate like this does. the battery life does suck but that normal for a true wireless headset. it lasts me 14 hours sessions and works when charging. the downside is micro usb cable falls out easy when charging. i tried to Astro A50's those have so many issues now that logic tec owns them they are not worth it. steel series headsets are very uncountable and the mic qualify on them suck. they wont fit anyone with a larger head. These do. one thing i would like to see for this headset is a stronger receiver to help lower any interference with Wifi. this inst a issue with this headset but a issue with any high connection speed wireless headset none bluetooth headset.

I bought this product after buying the ATH-M50x headset thinking they would be great sound quality. They suck in almost every aspect that matters. The sound quality sucks, the battery life sucks, the port to charge the headset sucks, and you expensive for what they are. Mic quality seemed okay and they are pretty comfortable to wear but those don't mean much when you way the pro's and con's. Contacted support and they didn't help or change anything because the product overall sucks. I was almost an audio-technica fan for life but this product put a bad taste in my mouth that they would even release these for that price. I guess I have to eat the money and buy something better.
