I have had this product for about 2 years now and recently changed the original stylus with a 2mm ortofon cart and the sound is so much better. The original Manufacture one was a little muffled but clear as day. Would love to buy this unit again ONLY if they were to fix the antiskate..

I had had this unit for about 2 years now and only just replaced the original stylus with a 2mm Red Ortofon and noticed the sound quality jump up by 100% Only real issue that I have is the antiskate.

I did a ton of research before choosing this turntable. It was between this and the ATP-LP1240. For the difference in price and for use at home, the AT-LP120 does everything I want. Set up is not difficult, but if you've never set up a tone arm with a counter weight you should watch the videos. It make a big difference getting the counter weight and anti-skate right. The settings for this are actually on the cardboard insert on the plate when you assemble the turntable, not in manual, so keep your eyes opened for that. The RCA cable is built in, instead of having normal RCA jacks. This means you have to use the cable that is pre-attached, which is not a big deal, unless you need a longer cable in which case you'll need double female adapters and an other cable. The bigger issue is that if anything thing happens to the cable you can't just swap it out with a new one. You will actually have to bring it in for repair. This is the issue that made the decision to buy this turntable or not more difficult. This was a really poor design decision for Audio-Technica. I cannot understand why anyone would thing this is a good idea.

Product performs precisely as advertised. Set-up could not be easier. I did three things to optimize performance; the resulting sound produced is distantly and noticeably improved. 1.) replaced the factory supplied cartridge with an AT VM540 ML/H cartridge; 2.) replaced the factory supplied platter mat with a cork mat; 3.) replaced the factory supplied tone arm counter-weight with a heavier AT counter-weight. I also placed this turn table on to a Auralex ISO-Tone turn-table isolation platform. I am thoroughly pleased with the performance (and appearance) of this component and would recommend it to anyone looking for a high-end entry level turntable.

I've read about problems related anti-skate and wobbling but I found nether to be the case. I would have been happy to pay a little more if the Mfg. made the foot pads with some kind a screw type to make leveling easier.

I plugged this turntable in though a basic Sony stereo receiver and cheap old speakers from an early 2000s 5 disc cd changer. It works very well. The sound is loud and clear and crisp. The turntable itself has had no issues, U've had it for over a year. It is easy to use, has never had any hiccups, haven't had to replace the needle at all yet but it does come with an extra. I decided to not buy the bluetooth one because of poor reviews. I bought a $10 portable bluetooth car receiver to plug into this turntable and am able to play music from my phone through the system. For my personal use, this suits me fine. Hopefully this helps someone out!

AT-LP120-usb Love this turn table, takes me back to when music was real and not computer generated. The only issue I have is the platter wobbles a bit but does not affect the sound quality yet.... eventually will order a new platter and rule out the motor spindle ...great purchase

Non functioning anti skate, wrong angle on tonearm, poor pre-amp and lame circuity. I regret buying this thing.

My girlfriend bought his for me as my first record player and the belt is missing so I can't even use it. I felt stupid for couple hours trying to figure out why it wasn't working. Had to watch a YouTube video to figure out I don't even have the belt.

I have had my LP60 for 2.5 years and it still works. I play my albums daily for at least an hour, longer on weekends and it still works as if it was new and out of the box. I have a pair of Bose computer speakers hooked up and the music sounds excellent. I have been neglect in not replacing the stylus (still plays great) and that's why I am on the Audio-technica site...to order a replacement stylus. When this record player finally quits on me I will replace it with another LP60. I also love that the tone arm automatically returns at the end of the album!!!!

The turntable is vunerable to spinning at a rate to fast pitching all your music too high. this problem started early into owning the record player and only got worse and worse with time. There are no solutions to fixing it than getting a new turntable and seems to be a common problem while searching online.

I just bought brand new in the box the usb version of the AT-LP60. Looks like an older model. Box says 2009. Anyway it was easy to set up. All of 10 or 15 minutes. That was taking my time too. Including unpacking. The thing I like is its fully automatic. Its belt driven. A preference of mine. It has a pre-amp. So i hooked it up to a set of 72 watt powered shelf speakers. Fantastic full rich sound for the price. Im guessing (Have never owned one so im using common sense here) the sound quality is not enough of a difference to justify spending another $150 on the AT-LP120. I think the biggest difference is the motor and weight. They are both great turntables Im sure....for my money Im sticking with the belt driven version.

First things first -- the users in these reviews claiming that they were getting bad sound and/or distortion most likely had the phono preamp switch set incorrectly. If you are plugging into an input marked "phono" on your receiver, make sure the switch on the back of the unit is set to "phono" as well. If everything is set up correctly, the unit will sound as it should. My advice would be to ignore those reviews. I am a turntable repair person, so I have a different perspective than most users. For the purpose of performing its function relatively well and meeting a price point, the AT-LP60 is a remarkable feat of industrial engineering. It's certainly not a "great" turntable performance-wise and it's made of plastic and thin metal and has an inexpensive motor, so I would not expect these to last a long time. But as a starter deck, one could do a lot worse. I've had a few come through the shop. One had an issue with the auto-stop linkage sticking and creating skipping halfway through a side. This was fixed by cleaning and re-setting the linkage. I had another one that had a frozen platter bearing. That would be a QC issue from the factory. As luck would have it, I had a compatible bearing assembly and was able to repair it for the customer. I've had several with pitch issues, but these are easily remedied by adjusting the controls with a jeweler's screwdriver and a strobe disc. I would contrast this with some other cheaper models I've seen, including the Sony PS-LX250 and the mechanisms that are in the Crosleys and all of their clones. Those are far inferior to the AT-LP60 in terms of reliability. When those come in, they typically can't be fixed because something in the motor or the circuitry has died. The AT-LP60 is a safe bet for now, and that's due to good design principles.

I got this player for my birthday years ago and I still love it and used it daily. The power cord was lost in a move and I was devastated. I contacted customer service and before the morning was up they'd fixed the problem. I could honestly cry I'm so happy to have my favorite thing back!! So happy we chose AT and I recommend them to everyone.

I got this for remastering 78's and radio transcriptions. I returned mine to Audio Technica for service. The turn table platter has a slight rumble / chattering sound when running. Also their is no ground, so there was a slight 60 hz. hum. They claim there were no issues. It came back to me the same. Also the bearings and pivot area of the tone-arm was sloppy, and I don't recall having that when I sent it to AT service. I know what I am doing and have been setting up turntables and remastering old records since the laste 60's on tape and now digital. I have two Technics turntables that are rock solid players. This was an expensive science project. Almost $300 for the turntable and $80 to ship to AT. I gave the turntable to a not for profit radio station, as the slight noise won't be heard on FM. I found a software trick to record 78's at 45 rpm. Also make sure you have the proper stylus as regular microgroove stylus won't track.

I found this turntable to be great for the price. Easy to set up. I still haven't connected it to my computer, to import my music into iTunes. So I don't know how easy or well that works. I did find that I shouldn't have ever gotten rid of my old turntable. Listening to my vinyl records again, is way better then the CD's or MP3/4's of today. The only complaint that I have with this turntable, is the clip to secure the tone arm. It is made very cheaply. It is made of plastic and is hard to release. It snapped right off, even though I was careful. I did read about this problem before I bought this, so I knew to be careful, but to no avail. Audio-Technica needs to upgrade this issue.

I have several Technics turntables from my broadcast days and thought as the AT looks like a "clone" of my SL1200 M3D I get one for 78's. What I noticed is that when it start it sound like a rim drive turntable. There is a slight mechanical rumble when it starts and plays. With recordings the rumble doesn't register, but I hear it never the less. I took the platter off and noticed the spindles moves randomly and make the same slight rumbling. So for under $300 its okay, but other than for 78's I use the ancient SL1200 M3D's for remastering LP's and 45's.

After using for nearly a year the AT LP120 has performed flawlessly. All functions work as expected. The audio reproduction is awesome. The supplied cartridge is better than expected and tracks without skipping. High notes are crystal clear, midrange is perfectly balanced and the lows emanating from my tower speakers reminds me of a sub woofer! I especially like the ability to slow music selections to match music to my key for singing along with same. All in all, this attractive turntable is THE BEST BUY on the market! Audio Technica has given us the best for less money!

I've gotten back into listening to my Vinyl Records again I wanted to convert all my old Vinyls into WAV. I am not disappointed in any manner with this turntable. I just plugged the USB into my Mac., (made sure to pick the correct input in the Audio Recording program), hit record on the program, hit start on the Turntable and now I have full uncompressed WAV. recordings of my 80's Vinyls. Any newbie to recording to Vinyl's should purchase this Turntable, there is not better option at this price range. Any better option will cost much much more along with the fact that you may need a Audio Interface, Pre-amp and even a mixing board just to record digital copies of your LP's.

This is a great starter turntable. I like the automatic arm function. It takes the guesswork out of putting the needle down on the right place to start the record. I like that it has the built-in dust cover that is closable during operation. It'll stay a part of my audio equipment for a long time.

Like many here, my turntable was great until it quit spinning the platter. Mine was just past a year old when it happened. Unlike many here, I actually opened it up to see if it was something obvious, and it is. The PCB boards are so poorly mounted they flex all over the place so you end up with broken solder runs on the logic board that distributes power to the DC motor. And with no parts support, its not like you can just order a new one. And even if you could, you should be handy with a soldering iron in order to replace it, as it's melted right to the tone arm. This is a disappointing product, especially at the price point it's sold at. Premium features don't mean anything if they are delivered in third rate components.

The manual written for XP, Vista, and Windows 7, the setup different for Windows 10 Pro, I sent some messages over the internet to the company, where I bought it, and some Geek sites. I did get an updated instructions, still took 2 hours and some knowledge of my own to do my 1st music recording. The other wise very good

Having done my homework on this unit, despite a number of owners complaining about warped platters and poor anti-skate function, I decided to listen to the many very positive reviews and went ahead with the purchase. I've owned a number of high quality turntables for 20+ years (Tech 12's, Pioneer 1000, Stanton t92), and because I'm particular about them, I was apprehensive prior to its delivery. I was hoping for a basic deck that produced good sound, had a built in preamp, and had USB functionality. This seemed to check all of the boxes.. Upon its arrival, I was impressed with its packaging, the weight and craftsmanship of the unit, and how much it looked like my old Technic 1200 mk2's. So far so good. After all of the various installations and tonearm alignment & balancing, I was up and running in about 20min. I placed a record on the platter, hit the start button, and immediately noticed the problem I was dreading.. The platter was significantly warped. For anyone who knows turntables, this is a big issue as it will affect playback and in turn, cause added stress to your cartridge, stylus, and your precious vinyl. My guess it that because these are mass produced, the parts are prone to becoming compromised. This was what many had written about in the many reviews Inread prior to buying the unit, especially in relation to the warped platter. It's truly a shame because this TT has so much potential. It produces great sound for a deck in this price range, and overall it has sturdy craftsmanship, making it a steal for entry level DJ or casual listening turntables. The lesson here was that I should have went with Audio Technica's flagship model, the AT LP1240, as it truly is a premiere deck aimed at people like myself who are looking for a high end experience. I still have the option to return this deck, which I most certainly will. I just hope that the warped platter isn't an issue that is tied to the 1240 as well.

Was very happy with this product until it completely died on me this week. I mean it was seriously great at first, it was easy to set up, it has a beautiful and sleek design, and it was such an upgrade from my el cheapo turntable that my parents bought me! But that being said, I have literally only had this turntable for 7 months and it is ALREADY BROKEN. When you go to press the start button the plate won't turn, thus I can only infer that the motor is kaputt as this is a direct drive and has no belt. This is with VERY casual and gentle use, only using it maybe a few times per week. I am super upset because it seemed like such a good decision at the time, "a great set up for not too much $$!!" Still can't believe it but my advice is, save your money and buy a real turntable y'all, I'm very lucky to have had it break within the one year warranty.

Music reproduction far better than other more expensive turntables. Flawless performer! A turntable well worth the reasonable cost. Voices clear, music seamless and function of turntable exemplary. Best bargain ever!!!

I've had this turntable for about 4 years. I've probably used it once a month over that time, and it has sounded great. BUT ... Today I turned it on and the table won't turn anymore. No help to be found online, either. Really disappointing.

Needed an upgrade, the briefcase ones have built in speakers and a heavy arm, move up and down damaging vinyls. This turntable is better if you have like $30 more bucks, provided you have non Bluetooth speakers. Better quality and moves the arm so you don't have to.

Excellent turntable with quality features expected with higher end turntables. Sound and range is superb especially with high quality recordings.. Replacing a higher end turntable I had for years with a Sure needle and meet, as well as, exceeds performance with the AT 97 needle. And you certainly can't complain about the contemporary design...matches our house and media room. Love it -
