Whether you're just getting into records, rediscovering a record collection long since buried away or simply adding a turntable to complete your system, the AT-LP60X fully automatic belt-drive turntable is an excellent choice. This affordable, easy-to-use turntable plays both 33-1/3 and 45 RPM records and, with its built-in switchable phono preamp, can be connected directly to your home stereo, powered speakers, computer and other components, whether they have a dedicated phono input or not. An update of the popular AT-LP60, the ATLP60X features a redesigned tonearm base and headshell to improve tracking and reduce resonance. Noise is further reduced by the inclusion of an AC adapter that moves the AC/DC conversion outside of the chassis where its impact on the signal chain is limited. Audio-Technica has been a leader in phono cartridge design for more than 50 years and that expertise shows in the AT-LP60X's Dual Magnet cartridge with replaceable stylus. The cartridge is integrated into the headshell for assured performance and ease of setup. The turntable comes with a detachable RCA output cable (3.5 mm male to dual RCA male), 45 RPM adapter and a removable hinged dust cover. It is available in black (AT-LP60X-BK), brown/black (AT-LP60X-BW), gunmetal/black (AT-LP60X-GM) and red/black (AT-LP60X-RD).

My PL50 finally gace up the ghost earlier this year after a solid 18 years of service. I don't have a huge budget so I gave this one a try. The sound quality is a definite step up. The build is pretty light though: closing the cover mid-play will cause the stylus to jump. I hope to keep this one for a while, but the materials used is concerning at this time. Still, I am satisfied and I can play records again!

Good replacement for my PL50

the needle floats or doesn't track and there is no adjustment. one article says they know it has a problem.

Outstanding quality and performance

I really like this record player. I'm still a beginner with records but I got this thing for my birthday and have loved it ever since. Accidentally ruined the plastic protective cover but I'm getting a new one! I had a victrola before this (which are known for ruining your records) and this thing felt like such a big upgrade. I know some of your are "experts" or whatever but I say this is a perfect record player for a beginner, like me.

Love this thing

I haven't had this unit for long, but so far it has been fantastic. It works as expected.

My only gripe is that the output is a 3.55mm barrel plug, although it comes with a 3.55mm to RCA cable.

The 'play' automatically moving the arm in place and lowering it, and the 'stop' automatically raising the arm, and returning it to its cradle wasn't something I expected. It was a pretty cool surprise.

I also like the button that raises and lowers the arm automatically (kind of like 'pause').

I wasn't expecting a unit that I could just put a record in and control everything else via buttons, but that's exactly what I got.

Also, the auto stop functions as expected.

For a vinyl newbie, this is a great system. Easy to set up, especially if you use audio-technica bluetooth speakers. Sound is exceptional.

For a lower budget turntable this is really the gold standard. Could benefit from upgrading the needle, but not a necessity.

All you need in a record player

I bought this thing as a gift and i thought id open it so i could shape into a transformer but before that could happen I decided to have some of mom's spaghetti and i needed to watch the record player because fritzy (my cat) loves to and has destroyed many other thing including my 1995 signed nirvana poster. So i was eating spaghetti when fritzy entered destroy mode and went for the record player. I blocked fritzy away from the record player but i got spaghetti all over it and it ended up falling anyway. it shattered like fine china and ive been trying to glue it together but it wont fix it. I know warranty probably wont fix it but i did start a gofundme if you want to help. Im sure it would be a good product but i cant testify for it personally.

Instructions are a joke

I'll start with the positive. Really easy to use and hook up to almost anything. I bought it on a whim a couple years ago and it helped me get into vinyl really for the first time. It has played everything I put on it without skipping. 
Now for negatives. For one thing, it looks and feels cheap. I know it IS cheap, but it looks and feels REALLY cheap. It weighs like a pound. 
The timing is all jacked up and there's no easy way to adjust it (or to adjust anything). Mine plays quite fast, up about a half step in pitch, and playing a 5 minute song in like 4:45. 
The stylus is a cheap piece of junk, and worst of all there is no way to replace it with a better one or upgrade the cartridge in any way.
It's a serviceable entry-level turntable, but it's also a dead-end. Pay $80 more and get something 3x better out of the gate, and also something you can grow with should you get the urge.

The product skips and I have tried reattaching the belt, changing where its placed, etc. I also think the cartridge is dropping out a channel but I havent run it through a battery of tests yet to prove that so it might be my amp. But it doesnt do it for radio.

Wish I had an alternative

I'm pleased - it's basic, light, and cheap - but it's totally worth getting at this price. Comes with a decent stylus and plays automatically (it's not obvious at first, with start/stop, up down buttons, but hit the big button and it starts a record revolving and moves the needle over it, dropping down to the start groove area).

Great choice for the price

I got this for X-mas and i absolutely LOVE it!

I needed a new turntable. Doing my homework, I found out that belt driven versions were better.. While shopping for turntables further homework led to  the AT-LP60X as the best for least. The diffficult part was finding one for sale. My only dislike was some assembly required, fortunately no tools needed

My review of Audio-Technica turntable AT-LP60X

If you are a beginner in the vinyl World this is an excellent and affordable one to begin with, good sound, works perfect.

Excellent first

This is my first record player and, for the few months I've had it so far, it's been great. It was super easy to set up and I paired it with a set of Insignia speakers that sound great. The built in pre-amp was awesome since I'm still a beginner, and really helped with the ease of the set-up. It seems super durable so far, and I've had no problems in sound (though I have had to clean the stylus about once a week, but from what I can tell, that seems to be pretty standard). I was wary of this turntable at first because of the low price, but I couldn't have picked a better beginner model at the price point. The ATLP60x is an awesome choice to begin your journey into the world of vinyl!

Great beginner turntable

It's great if you are a casual listener but because of the basic functions, it can't grow with your vinyl collection.
No counterweight and anti-skate make these turntable prone to have skipping issues.

Good for casual listeners

I wanted to get back into vinyl after being disappointed with the sound of the digital age of music. Purchased this great turntable which easily connected to my home entertainment system and was truly plug and play out of the box. Purchased a couple of records and now enjoying crystal clear sounds from yesterday. Extremely happy with my purchase and look forward to adding to my vinyl collection. Haven't had this long, so not sure about long term reliability. Seems put together well with belt driven turntable and a sturdy unit overall.

Great turntable at a great price

Had this record player for about 5 months and have not been able to listen to an entire album a single time without each song skipping 10-20 times each song. I clean each record before playing, even got a new one from the store, took it out of packaging, and it skipped on this player. Have been in contact with Audiotechnica a few times and they have sent me new needles for it since they think thats the issue. The new needle works for a few songs then gets back to skipping. I dont know if they just make the worst needles on the market, or if its the player as a whole. You would think spending a decent amount on a record player you would be able to play records, but thats not the case here.

Don't do it.

As my first record player I took time researching options that would sound good but not break the bank. This came up numerous times and after purchasing it I am very happy with it. Super easy setup, sleek design which looks lovely in my living room. Sound is lovely through my soundsystem, with nothing noticeably missing from any of the lps I have thrown at it! Audio Technica delivers again

Brilliant beginner turntable and great sound

I received this turntable a couple of weeks ago as one of several players under $100. After reviewing the AT-LP60X, I have to say that I am impressed with this model all around. The build quality as a whole is actually decent with a sturdy cast aluminum platter. The only real issue I see with the design is the tonearm being built mainly out of plastic which may give you issues with tracking down the road. The sound quality is actually really good once you fine tune your setup. I paired mine with some Polk Audio Signature series speakers powered by an Onkyo TX-NR686 receiver. If you know how to set your Equalizer, it will really bring the sound to life. All in All Audio Technica has been around for years and they really know their stuff so you can't go wrong with anything product they have to offer. If you are just getting into Vinyl and are on a budget, this model is a great starting point.

Best budget Turntable on the market!!!

Grew up with records and record players in the 60s and 70s. This is not record player. This is an attempt to create something that was perfected 50 years ago. I've got a cheap portable box player that sounds better and is more durable for half the price. With this player, a brand new record was skipping.

Flimsy and cheap

Perfect beginner's turntable. The set up is a breeze and sound quality is wayyyy better than I expected.
