All I needed!

Love it! Simple to set up, simple to use. Great price and value. I had been without a turntable for many years. I had kept my old records but had no way to play them. What fun listening to them again. They sound great in spite of a few scratches. This was the perfect price for my needs and it filled my need precisely. It does all I need it for ... and very well. Highly recommend for anyone who wants great sound at a reasonable price.

Nice budget turntable

Nice budget turntable that doesn't destroy your vinyl like other inexpensive units. Sound is decent for the price. What I don't get is why there is no grounding wire connection like most turntables, as the amplifier produces a low humming sound when unit is on.

Easy to use but bad clipping at moderate volume levels.

I purchased this turntable in order to re-start a vinyl collection. It has been over 20 years since I used a turntable. The setup process and connections were super easy. The sound at low volume levels is good. I noticed bad clipping at moderate volume levels. I connected the turntable using the built-in pre-amp and line out to my living room system an Onkyo TX-SR353 and KEF speakers. I did some troubleshooting by changing the settings on the receiver and used different inputs to see if the clipping issue would disappear but to no avail. I will attempt to use the Marantz receiver in my dedicated home theater to see if I have better luck. I believe the Marantz has built in phono pre-amp. I may have to buy a pre-amp and use the phono out instead of line level. It is possible I got a defective one or my expectations were high for an entry level turntable. Perhaps I should have purchased a more expensive model but I am in the middle of building my vacation home so the budget is tight.

With the AT-LP60XUSB fully automatic belt-drive turntable you can experience your vinyl's high-fidelity audio directly or convert it to digital. The AT-LP60XUSB plays both 33-1/3 and 45 RPM records and is equipped with a USB output that allows direct connection to your computer. Just download the free Mac- and PC-compatible Audacity recording software (or software of your choice) and start converting your records to digital audio files. In addition to the USB output, the turntable is also equipped with a detachable RCA output cable (3.5 mm male to dual RCA male) and a built-in switchable phono preamp so you can connect directly to your home stereo, powered speakers, computer and other components, whether they have a dedicated phono input or not.

This updated version of the AT-LP60-USB features a redesigned tonearm base and headshell to improve tracking and reduce resonance. Noise is further reduced by the inclusion of an AC adapter that moves the AC/DC conversion outside of the chassis where its impact on the signal chain is limited. Audio-Technica has been a leader in phono cartridge design for more than 50 years and that expertise shows in the AT-LP60XUSB's Dual Magnet cartridge with replaceable stylus. The cartridge is integrated into the headshell for assured performance and ease of setup. The turntable comes with a 45 RPM adapter and a removable hinged dust cover. Available in black (AT-LP60XUSB-BK) and gun-metal (AT-LP60XUSB-GM).
