This is a heavy, well-made head. There's no play - everything is perfectly precise and well engineered. Note that the silver (aluminium?) ring has a little vertical play in it, but the paperwork that comes with it explains that that's the way it's constructed for the mechanism to work.
Definitely a recommend to buy. Very pleased with this.
