I should get this one to begin with. No need any othe ball head for life!

I bought this Arca Swiss Z1 DP with Flip Lock Quick set for my RRS TVC-24 tripod. For first looks and try out. The quality is implacable. It operated fluid, flawlessly. I love the flip lock compares with my smaller ball head p0 with classic quick release. It will be solid setup with Fujifilm GFX mid format. I will update the review after few month of use on field.

The best ball head I ever had!

This ARCA Swiss Z1 DP ball head has it all! It is super strong, and very reliable! It works very smooth with my D800e and any lens I put on it! I don't think it would have any trouble even with the heaviest slr lenses! I recommend this ball head to anybody looking for a strong dependable ball head! I love mine!

QR is OK Once Know How to Operate

It is an excellent ball head. I don't need to repeat what the other reviewers have praised about it. I would rather talk about the Quick Release. The problem of the Quick Release is its design is not intuitive, and the instruction paper does not explain how to operate. If you try by error, you may damage the relatively small lever. However once know how to operate, it is easy and fast to open and close. The operation is a 2 steps process - the first step is to turn the lever 90 degree to release the plate slightly so that you can adjust its position on the clamp. The second step is to turn the lever 180 degree to fully open the clamp. The operation is you pull the metal switch on the lever to open 90 degree, and then pull the metal rob inside the lever to open 180 degree. It sounds complicated but once you are familiar you can operate in one go to open 180 degree in a fast and continuous way. I hope this helps those who want to buy the Quick Release version. It is not bad at all.

Excellent, but quick release is finicky

This is an excellent ball head. My only problem with it was the finicky quick release. It is both fragile (warranty small print says it will not be covered if broken due to too much pressure) and takes more time to fully unlock, than the thumb screw release I ended up having to buy at a big loss. Save yourself both time and headache and don't buy the quick release version.

just wonderful

Best ballhead I have ever used. Solid as a rock, turns silky smooth. Might just be my last ballhead. However, for this price, I wish it had come with a plate.

This ARCA Swiss Z1 DP ball head has it all! It is super strong, and very reliable! It works very smooth with my D800e and any lens I put on it!
