I use this microphone for indie film production. It has exceptional sound quality and a sturdy build. Side/rear sound rejection is excellent, good for picking up sound in noisy environments. You will want to make sure you have the proper cables to connect the mic to your camera, as different cameras have different audio adapters and the mic did not come with a cable. My only real complaint about this mic is the shock mount. The mic is constantly sliding forward in the mount, some times enough that it flips the power switch on or off. This can be annoying. The shock mount has a shoe mount and threads for tripod and mic stand adapters, but the threads strip quite easily. If you are going to be using this mic a lot, then I would suggest purchasing a third-party mount. Overall this mic is an excellent product, and I am seriously considering buying another one.

I am shocked nobody wrote a review for it as other websites have so many user reviews for this product. i own a sony sr11 and wanted to buy this mic to improve the dialogues audio in my short films. it really works great and records the vocals and some of surrounding sound a lot more clear. some people complain about the mic being too long and shows up in the cam view but i just reversed the shockmount and it didn't showed up at all even with the wide angle lens attached. i use hosa xlr to mini 3.5 cable with this mic. i would recommend this to anyone looking for a shotgun mic in this price range. some people may think rode videomic would be better but rode videomic produces a lot bassy sound and seems unnatural. so u r better off with the azden. its constructed well and have xlr output so can have the boom pole features as well.
