About Azden SGM-3500
After rigorous testing and quality assurance, the SGM-3500 and SGM-3500L Hypercardioid Broadcast Shotgun Microphones are ready to meet the demanding needs of audio and video professionals. These high-quality condenser microphones feature supercardioid and hypercardioid polar patterns respectively, ensuring precise audio capture by minimizing background noise and focusing on the sound source.
Each microphone is accompanied by a unique frequency response chart, a testament to its wide frequency response and ultra-low noise levels. The SGM-3500 and SGM-3500L microphones are equipped with a balanced 3-pin XLR output, gold-plated for optimal connectivity and resistance to corrosion. This design is compatible with any standard XLR microphone input, and can be connected using any standard, balanced XLR microphone cable (sold separately).
These professional-grade microphones require phantom power to operate, typically supplied at 48V through a balanced microphone cable. This DC voltage powers the electronics of the microphone, and is commonly provided by professional cameras, mixers, and audio interfaces with microphone XLR preamps. If your equipment does not supply phantom power, an external phantom power supply will be necessary.
The SGM-3500 and SGM-3500L microphones are designed to function optimally within a voltage range of 44 to 52V. It's important to note that performance may degrade with lower voltages, and potential damage could occur with voltages exceeding this range.
Included with each microphone is a durable microphone clip, designed to fit the SGM-3500 or SGM-3500L snugly. This clip features a 5/8" threaded hole, compatible with USA standard microphone boom poles, and comes with a thread adapter for fitting to boom poles with a 3/8" thread European standard pole. The clip's articulate design allows for angle adjustments when booming.
