It seems like your Sportsman Five is a very unique rifle that has very few scope mount options. For $20 + shipping, I personally would by this item and see if I could alter it to work for your application. I Googled "BSA Sportsman Five 22 scope mount" and found a couple of mentions on some forums for this rifle. You might want to take it to a competent gunsmith and get him to mount a rail to your rifle if you don't feel confident attempting the alteration. JMHO Hope this helps
