A high-quality glossy double-weight paper with baryta coating and a highly sensitive chlorobromide emulsion. Comes in 3 contrast grades and a wide latitude of exposure and development.
PRESTIGE GRADED NB is a double weight photographic paper with a high quality chlorobromide emulsion. Its fiber base gives it exceptional results and whiteness while its silver content allows for a wide exposure range and development with remarkable gradation. Glossy and matt surfaces are available. It gives a neutral image tone.
Red safelight as for bromide paper is recommended. For instance, ENCAPSULITE R10 or WRATTEN 1A allows good darkroom lighting.
Double weight glossy PRESTIGE GRADED NB paper can be exposed with all enlarger and printer light source.
PRESTIGE GRADED NB can be processed in any good quality paper developper. However, we recommend formulas using 1 gram of Metol and 4 grams of Hydroquinone per liter of developer. Development time at 20°C (68°F) is 1 1/2 to 2 min. Most developers will have an average capacity of processing 1 ½ to 2 sqm of PRESTIGE GRADED NB double weight per liter.
An acid stop bath is optional but recommended. It quickly stops development by neutralizing alkali. This also helps extend fixer life. Dilution : 25 cc of 28% acetic acid in 1 liter of water. Stop bath time : 15 seconds or 20 to 30 seconds of water rinse.
PRESTIGE GRADED NB should be fixed in most of conventional or rapid fixers. With a 220g to 280g Sodium Thiosulfate content fixer and at 18 to 23°C (65°F to 73°F), minimum fixing time is 5 mn. In 1 litre of working solution of fixer, 1 1/2 sqm of PRESTIGE GRADED NB can be processed.
You may wish to use the two-bath fixing method (at 2 ½ min. per bath). When the first bath is exhausted it is replaced with the second bath and a fresh ½ second bath ? is mixed. With this rotation method you will avoid under-fixing.
The use of a wash aid (such as Kodak Hypo Clearing Agent) will reduce your wash time and increase the efficiency of your washing. As well, it will help guarantee the permanence of your photograph.
Wash PRESTIGE GRADED NB in running water at a rate fast enough to completely change once every 5 minutes. Wash time is 1 hour at 20°C (68°F) or 30 min. if a wash aid has been used.
To effect even and rapid drying, you may use a wetting agent as a final rinse. Excess water should be removed from the surface of prints with a clean sponge or squeegee. Prints may then be dried in dust-free air on drying screens or in a clean photo-blotter.
PRESTIGE GRADED NB responds well to the majority of methods of toning, retouching and mounting.
