Once the snow has melted and the flowers have begun to bloom, Mother Nature overwhelms the senses with new sounds, colors, and experiences. Entire orchestras of sound rise to their climax as animals wake and continue the cycle of life while the skies open to pour out Earth's nourishing rain.

EUROPEAN SPRING takes on a different dimension than our previous SPRING library, which was recorded in environments throughout the United States. EUROPEAN SPRING captures the outdoor atmosphere of Europe. It contains different birds, frogs, and other wildlife captured in stunning detail. In general, Europe is much more temperate, while the United States has a much more diverse palette.

SEASONS OF EARTH - EUROPEAN SPRING captures all the musically diverse variations of the season, encompassing the orchestras of avians, chorus of frogs, and the divine instruments of nature like howling wind through highlands, a light rain drumming across fields of mustard seed, or roaring river flowing down the mountainside of the valleys of Kerry, Ireland.

The library was recorded in 3D using a Schoeps ORTF rig, taking listeners on a journey across the vanishing rural landscapes of Europe in full 360 Degree audio. Listeners who close their eyes can feel the cool Northern breeze on their faces or the fresh, early morning smell of a German forest. Transport your audiences with the field crickets of the Black Forest that only sing in spring, or the wetlands of Sweden flocking with the new life of migratory birds that range across the continents and breed in the North. A Symphony Of The European Wild
Europe is an increasingly crowded continent, and escaping to an untouched nature is becoming more and more difficult. Our recordists have ventured out into the deep wilds with a sense of diligence and patience, capturing seemingly untouched sonic landscapes trapped in time.

Though this library does capture a few settled landscapes and farmsteads that characterize modern Europe, with a very occasional sheep bleat (labeled), it does seek to capture a completely isolated and only natural environment, to reflect the state of nature in a European spring.

What is so special about 3D Surround?
3D Surround has two enormous advantages over conventional surround sound. On the one hand, individual sound sources can be located much better and more clearly with 3D Surround. On the other hand, 3D Surround also reflects height differences much better. This results in a more extensive and much clearer sound image in a quality that cannot be achieved with conventional surround sound.

Regular Surround: High-Precision Sound Location
Conventional surround sound often provides a somewhat diffuse image of the sound source, making it hard to precisely pinpoint the direction where the sound is coming from and where it is moving to. 3D Surround draws a crystal-clear picture of the source recording for a complete sound experience.

3D SURROUND: The 3rd Dimension - Suited For VR & Dolby Atmos
3D Surround adds a height layer as a third dimension compared to regular surround. The sound not only reaches the listener's ear from the side, but also from above. This results in a much better localization of the sound source and a much more immersive listening experience which makes it the perfect surround type for VR applications and Dolby Atmos.

Our 3D Surround libraries are recorded with the highly-acclaimed SCHOEPS ORTF-3D setup, a cuboid 8ch level/time difference ambience setup. The main benefit is an additional height layer compared to regular surround recording setups. It consists of 8 supercardioid microphones.

The height layer offers a much wider range of spatial sound effects and a more realistic three-dimensional reproduction. Therefore, it provides a clearer representation of spatial depth, a more natural surround impression, improved envelopment, and an authentic feel.
