The TG D71 boundary microphone is primarily used for miking bassdrums while placing it simply without any additional mounting material into the bass drum. The non-slip rubber bottommakes sure that the microphone cannot shift by itself. In additionto this the TG D71 can also be used for other low frequency instruments such as cajon, grand piano or upright piano whereasthe compact design and the half-cardioid polar pattern ensure easypositioning of the microphone. Due to its high impulse fidelity, alow attack time and a maximum sound pressure level of 148 dB, theTG D71 is suitable for miking percussion instruments.
The rugged housing in a slim, compact design protects the micro-phone against damages in the rough daily use on stage.
For a permanent installation on a surface there are two mountingholes at the bottom of the microphone. The microphone is provided with an integrated pre-amp and can bepowered on microphone inputs supplying 11 to 52 V phantompower. A red illuminating status LED displays the applied phantom power and in this way the operating status of the microphone.
Drum Microphone for miking the bass drum
With a high impulse fidelity, quick-responding attack, and a maximum sound pressure level of 148 dB, the TG D71 is ideal for miking percussion instruments. The microphone delivers an equally convincing performance on cajones and pianos.
Status-LED
With a slim and timeless design, it's both a technical and a visual highlight. A red, illuminating LED status displays the applied phantom power, as well as the operating status of the microphone. The microphone is supplied with a travel bag for protection during transportation. For longer installation on a surface, the microphone has a mounting device on the bottom.
Rugged Housing
While the extremely rugged housing ensures optimum protection during use on stage, the compact design allows the microphone to be positioned easily in a bass drum without any additional accessories. The XLR connector has an integrated pre-amp, which is practical both on stage and in the studio.
Sound Channelling Technology
To achieve that "unique" beyer sound, beyerdynamic has been developing and refining its Sound Channelling Technology (SCT) for decades. Our acoustic expercts have created acoustic labyrinths with special geometries that provide optimised sound channelling. They influence the sound and model the polar pattern by using precisely tuned delay lines and attenuation pads. Whether with additional elements, special materials or unique design: every beyerdynamic microphone has its own SCT to ensure optimal control of the sound waves. The result? Incredible sound quality.
Made in Germany
The TG D71 is carefully handcrafted at beyerdynamic's headquarter in Heilbronn, Germany. We manufacture using only the finest mechanical and electronic components and rock solid materials.
