When my old tripod broke, I did a loooot of research to find the perfect replacement. I needed something lightweight but durable, able to hold the weight of my telephoto lens, and travels easily. Enter the MeFOTO Backpacker! It's just awesome! I looooove the 360 pan feature! I can keep the tripod in one place and just reposition the camera instead of moving the entire tripod. As of now I'm stuck photographing in my city, but I can't wait until there is a COVID vaccine so I can take this on many, many photo trips!

This thing works in a pinch. We had to get this for a last minute job and when putting on a Canon dslr with a 100mm Macro etc it gets a bit top heavy is all so just try to put some weight on the center column clip (great feature actually). I went with this for later use more of using my mirrioless while backpacking and camping which I cam sure it will be great. It's not the most durable but hey it's only $ and if you want something heavy duty there are a bunch to choose from starting at double the price of this without a head. Works for me for now...

My first impression was that it was rather small, but once you extend it all the way its fairly tall, but I still have to stoop down to see through the view finder, I'm about 5'7. Its pretty stable, though I did notice some flex in the legs with a heavier lens on it. It packs down to about 12 inches and about the width of a soda can, maybe just a bit larger, which makes it very easy to strap to a backpack for travel or outdoor activity usage. I put it on a backpack and skied down double black terrain to shoot a skiing competition and barely noticed the tripod was there when added to the other gear I had on me. I would feel comfortable taking this tripod backpacking or mountain biking too.
