Seems pretty durable and sturdy. Haven't used it much, but much more steady feeling than the Manfrotto BeFree. I like the fact that the head is removable and I can upgrade parts on this one opposed to the BeFree. We'll see how it last in days to come.

Amazing light weight and super portable tripod. Very happy with the purchase and using the tripod the last few weeks.

I went looking for a tripod small enough to fit in my motorcycle side case, so it had to be under 16" folded. I'd initially picked out the Manfrotto BeFree after owning several other Manfrotto sticks. However, I was absolutely shocked at the overall poor quality after checking one out at the store. Absolutely not worth ($). So the search continued. Perused all the usual suspects, thought I was doomed to spend ($) on a nice carbon fiber set, then happened upon the MeFoto display. Initially it seemed a gimmicky brand with lots of silly colors and designated smart phone adapter, but I did a double-take after looking at the advertised load capacity. Nearly double that of the Manfrotto. Mistake? Time to find out Immediately I was struck by the look and feel of the Roadtrip. Legs are extremely stable even at full extension, and every control feels sturdy. I did the usual "extend legs and mash on the top" test and it barely moved or slouched, completely unlike the Manfrotto. Guess the load capacity stat is dead on. Since then I've taken it out with my FS5, and even that camera is no problem. The ball head is also very impressive, featuring smooth pan control, nice markings, dials, and a level. Really exceptional, especially at the price. Comes with a nice carrying case too. So here I sit with a silly bright blue MeFoto, and I'm already considering the smartphone adapter. No regrets. If you want a nice stable and small set of sticks for a medium weight camera, this is the one.
