Good for the most part but one small gripe...

I love everything about this tripod except that the head adjustment. It has an adjustment knob that allows the head to move left/right horizontaly. The knob gets in the way of the head turning if it's not turned enough. Most of these adjustments are done from your head on the camera anyway so it's not a huge deal but still annoying a little.

Looks and feels very sturdy and stable

Met my expectations as soon as I unpacked the unit. I mounted my camera with my heaviest lens and was pleasantly surprised at the stability. (note I also purchased a ball mounting unit to go with tripod). Excellent value and easy to use. Only minor issue was it took me two days to discover there was a zippered pocket inside the carry case containing the instructions and registration card!

Rock Solid

I have the carbon fiber version topped with a Gitzo ballhead. This setup is super stable, and light enough to hike with. The versatile pod opens up a ton of options for creative angles. I use this product for EVERYTHING that requires a rock-steady platform. I almost like this tripod more than I like my camera. :)

Benro A2970F

Great product overall, sleek and great construction. Only wish it had a better head. But for the price you can't beat the carrying weight or load capacity

Better than the Manfrotto....way better

The Benro is better than the equivalent manfrotto tripods because of the articulation possibilities of the center column, the higher weight capacity, the solid construction and the price. There is a great review on youtube comparing the two.

great tripod

It is some what heavy but does not bother me as i would rather have the weight than blurry photos. The adjustablity is awesome and allows it be used in ways a and in places normal legs just won't go. Great tripod.

Great solid tripod

The Benro A2970F is a very solid tripod. I have been searching for the perfect tripod that wouldn't bust the back and I think I have found it. The main thing I was looking for was a tripod that could be at eye level without extending the center column. This tripod certainly does that. I would say anyone 6 feet tall and under will not have to extend the center column to be at eye level. This all depends on the head you are using of course. I am using a simple ball head. I really like the diameter of the legs. The flip locks are pretty stiff and do have nuts to adjust the stiffness. You can also pan the center of the tripod independent of the head. It's major competitor is the Manfrotto 055xprob tripod so let's compare the numbers: Folded Height Benro - 26 in Manfrotto - 25.7 in Max Height (without center column extended) Benro - 58.1 in Manfrotto - 55.9 in Max Height (with center column extended) Benro - 68.8 in Manfrotto - 70.3 in Maximum Load Capacity Benro - 22 lb Manfrotto - 15.4 lb Tripod Weight Benro - 4.5 lb Manfrotto - 5.3 lb Leg Angles Benro - 24, ?, ? (3 angles) Manfrotto - 23, 45, 65, 88 (4 angles) Leg Tube Diameters Benro - ? Manfrotto - 29.4mm, 25mm, 20 mm With both tripods you can mount the center column at practically any angle making them great for getting that perfect position. The Benro includes a good carry case, strap and spiked feet whereas the Manfrotto you have to buy those accessories separately. Bottomline: The Benro A2970F is very comparable to the Manfrotto 055xprob tripod and does include accessories that are not included with the Manfrotto. If you are looking for a tripod in the $150 range give the Benro a look.
