Questions & Answers

Shopper : can I use this head with my canon XHA1? Can i add longer handles to maneuvar panning and tiltingANDREW R : This ballhead should work with nearly any camera or camcorder equipped with a standard 1/4"-20 tripod thread. That said, ballheads are generally designed for use with still photography and are not ideal for video work. Handles are not normally an available accessory for this type of head.
Mario W : I am planning to buy a Benro A2190 Travel flat tripod and need to get me a suitable ballhead. Now I am torn between the Benro B1 and Benro B2. The most heaviest camera and lens combination to this ballhead and trippod would be a Nikon D5000 with Sigma 50-500mm lens. Which one of the ballheads B1/or B2 would could recommend?ROBERT M : Rule of thumb is that the ball head should support twice the weight of your heaviest camera and lens. Check the numbers.FREDERICK W : I have a Benro B1 Ballhead. I bought it because the other ballhead that I bought did not have a friction control on it an it slammed on my fingers. I bought the B1 because it had a friction control and the price was right. I use this ballhead with my C289ex Carbon Fiber Tripod for traveling. The conbination is extremely light weight. For the last year I have been pleased with this combination. I am currently traveling and am having trouble with friction setting and the friction lock. I am using a Canon 40D with a variety of lenses and I am fighting a drooping lens. I would not put a 20 pound camera on this Benro ballhead I hope that this helps. Fred White.DAVID G : My B1 will handle the weight of my 500 lens. The only precaution I take is, I make sure I mount the lens to the ball head, not to the camera with the larger lenses. Otherwise it's off balance. With wildlife, I prefer a gimbal mount with the larger lenses. I use a Jobu Black Widow MK II. The Jobu provides plenty of support and axial movement
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?CARINO A : 5 star reviewCHUCK M : I already have one of these, but needed another for a tracker mount. It performs well with my A7r iii and a 600mm lens. Great ballhead for the money.Robert P : good price performance ratio. specs fit the need.

Benro B1 Ballhead short commentary

Nicely finished. Might as well look as good as it appears to work. Comfortable to work with. Like any other piece of gear, it should do the job without getting in your way, and it does just that.

High quality for the price.

I really like my benro b1 with my canon 80d camera. I use it mostly with my benro monopod, very easy to use and smooth operation with it's movement.

Strong, relatively lightweight at competitive price.

While I haven't tested it with anything close to a 31 lb load, it works as advertised. Relatively light in weight, strong, functional and competitively priced. Knobs and ball motion work well. The primary problem I had was that the locking clamp worked fine on the side of my camera's Arca-Swiss L bracket, but would not close far enough to hold the more narrow bottom. Fortunately, I was able to remove the center screw and swap in another clamp I had laying around. I guess Arca-Swiss specs allow different width dovetails.

Strong ball head at low cost

I use this ball head mounted on my tripod and love it. I use it with an l-bracket attached to camera. I use this on a daily basis and can’t complain nor are there any faults I’ve come across. Holds steady and stable. This is a good strong ball head.
