It doesn't work with heavy phones. Every time I put it on my monitor, it falls off.

I thought for sure when I ordered this there would be a way to rotate/swivel the phone so my screen was facing me from atop my laptop lid. I don't need my cameras facing me, I have a web cam for that. I need it for reading scripts next to my web cam. It seems sturdy and perfect for someone who needs more cameras on them.

iPhone mount with MagSafe for Mac laptop is not as reliable as you think. The magnet is strong enough to use with the iPhone 16 pro without the case. The first one I purchased broke within 4 months, after using strictly from desktop to laptop. It didn't get moved past the desk and laptop. And didn't move from the desk yet it broke at the hindge. I don't trust that it wont happen again.

Broke within 2 months using only 2 days a week. Rep offered an RMA but I would have had to pay to ship it and ship a new one. Basically the cost of just buying a new one.

I have yet to try it for an actual FaceTime call -- too bad we didn't have this for COVID. However, I have tested it atop the TV, and I'm very impressed with the quality of materials, the design, and the fit-and-finish. My wife was also very impressed with the feel and looks of the mount. It also comes with an optional wall mount and can be used sitting on any substrate below the TV, so it seems to accommodate most all use scenarios. It's pricey (I pre-ordered at $49.99), but if you need something like this, you won't be disappointed.

The product and general idea is great. there is only one short coming. If the actual magnetic part could be rotated 180/360 degree the product would become so much more practical. In its current configuration is pretty much only supports the continuity function.

The iPhone Mount works great for the Continuity Cam feature of MacOS. When it was new, the magnet's hold felt very secure and the whole thing would lay flat on the back of the phone. However, after just 4-5 months of very light use (rarely opened the ring grip), something inside it seems to have broken because the ring grip no longer lies flat and the magnetic side of the mount does not lie flush against the phone, which makes me think the magnet won't hold securely and will drop my phone 4ft to the tile floor below, which would destroy the phone. I'm not sure how widespread the issue is, so maybe I'm the only unlucky one. I would have given it 5 stars if I had rated it in the first month or two because of how nice of a feature Continuity Cam is.

The iPhone mount works well with my BenQ display. I was excited to get this product because in the past I needed to rely on my MacBook Pro camera for remote meetings. Because I use a larger monitor (BenQ) as my main display, I was forced to look to the side for meetings. Now I can use the iPhone mount and it works well. The build is very sturdy and substantial and I am confident it will last a long time. Would definitely recommend this product to family and friends.

Purchased the MagSafe for Mac Desktops and Displays to make it easy to use my iPhone as my camera. It does exactly what I wanted it to do! Easily mounted onto my display monitors and adjusted up and down to capture the area I wanted seen on camera. The only downside is this thing is really big and heavy. While I know it needs to be sturdy enough to hold the phone, it is a bit like a brick. It suits my needs though I hope the engineering can figure out how to make it a bit less bulky and heavy in the future

I bought this a few months ago and just tried it recently. I too found that the hinge is floppy. When you touch the phone to make adjustments the whole thing wobbles. I'm not worried about it dropping my phone, I just can't use it to make fine adjustments without holding it as it bounces way too much. When you adjust the angle, you have to keep playing with it to get it right as there's a lot of play in the hinge. I would get a replacement, but I'm not sure if I can get one because of how long I've had it before I used it.

The tripod screw mount is set back further than what I would like as well, definitely owing to the weakness of the hinge. Other than that the product works well for its primary function. Great idea, but only works on a naked MacBook. Clamshell cases prevent the use of this device. I ALWAYS put a case on my MacBook to keep it in perfect condition and to protect it - this device is useless to me. Got it directly from Apple. Wish there was a disclaimer stating this issue - I would not have purchased it if there were.

This is an excellent product, very well built with materials that are very agreeable to the touch. Mounting the phone on your Macbook (tried with Air M1) is very easy and straightforward. The magsafe connection is very strong and for me the real winner is the sturdy metal ring providing a secure hold to your phone. The thin profile makes it virtually disappear when not in use. Another Belkin magsafe winner...
