Extremely pleased with the build quality. I was able to purchase this on the Christmas sale so it was a no brainer when the opportunity came up. I can?t wait to use this in the field and look forward to many years of use with it. Grab it if you can, you won?t be disappointed.

Monopod is light considering it has a metal ball head. It seems to be supporting by super heavy 400 2.8 + 1dx combo without worry, which is definitely a good thing. The pan function on the head seems to be a bit pointless since the ball head has full freedom to pan as well. Once I get the resistance in a place I liked, panning was actually easy to do with the heavy kit with just the ball head, even with the monopod at weird angles. The included ARCA plate is tough to get secure on the heavy lens, but most people who have one of these lenses likely have an ARCA foot on it, anyway if that's a function they value. Overall it's good, but I'd prefer a slightly lighter/cheaper system without the fluid filled pan head. The ball works fine. Ohh also, the knobs on the head make the lens a bit annoying to carry on my shoulders.

This is a very sturdy monopod, I am using it with a Nikon D6 and a 120-300 lens, a hefty combo. occasionally a teleconverter as well. The head is smooth, easy motion and good lock. Lower profile, which I love, packs small to travel easy. Great all in one item.

I admit it - I'm relatively new to the monopod world having only used a few over the past couple of years. While I did like many of the Manfrotto monopods, I felt that I needed a matched set (head and monopod) and not ala carte... and I didn't want to spend over $300. My need list was: Carbon fiber - lightweight and strong Able to hold at least 4x my camera/lens weight Screw legs as opposed to flip-locks. While I like flip-locks, for travel I prefer screw legs (less chance to get snagged). Wanted a monopod with a 'matched' head and not just a base and a screw. The head needed to pan/tilt and not be a flat turn only. The Benro SupaDupa 6-section monopod ticked all of the boxes! Satisfied, and after checking out the company and some of their reviews, I ordered it up from Adorama. A few days later, I had the monopod in my hands and was ready to get things dialed in... which was a breeze. My ONLY complaint was that the included mounting plate just would't tighten to the lens foot to my satisfaction. I kept feeling a little play in the joint. I don't know about you, but I don't want ~$13,000 of camera and lens wiggling around on the monopod! To remedy this, I ordered a Really Right Stuff extended lens foot for my Canon EF 300mm f2.8 IS II USM. A few days later it arrived from Adorama and I bolted it on. Night and Day. The foot mounts perfectly to the Benro base and firms up nicely. There is virtually zero play in that connection, which was my goal. Satisfied, I was ready for my next assignments - 2 high school soccer games and playoff high school football. I am happy to say that the monopod performed flawlessly! VERY happy! As an aside, the soccer games were played in 38*F rainy conditions - fairly nasty. I did collapse the monopod to get it loaded out to my car. When I got home, I extended the monopod and allowed it to dry for a day or so. Happy to say that it's 100% functional and remained dry thanks to the O-ring seals at every joint. I wasn't that concerned but do like the added benefit of the O-rings. The only negative I have - and it's a very minor one - is that the rubber grips on the sections tend to drift a little when loosening or tightening the sections. They do, for me, tend to rise up about 1/4" to maybe 3/*" outside of their little channel. While not a deal breaker, it is a little bit of a pain to get them all seated back into their channels.... or I have OCD.. not sure. Maybe a bit of both. Bottom line - VERY happy with my decision to purchase this monopod!
